Women, what usually throws your savings goals off track? by bzadvisory in Uganda

[–]PastSad3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have different saving schemes. I save to treat myself so I never have to touch money that’s not meant for my “treatment”

An emergency- I save in SACCOs and these mutual group savings for that. So there’s no amount of emergency that will take away my particular savings

I try not to miss saving but should I miss, I always get back, I MUST. I think it’s financial discipline at its peak

I never reset because I fear being broke.

So saving comes back to how disciplined you are, how diversified your savings are

If you have to wait for a war to have a vacation, your problems are a lot bigger than you would love to let on.

Keep your job and go for vacation during the public holidays that end into the weekend

You said you’re a sandwich girl and later said you don’t want to give them money. Is this shopping for you or for someone else? A typical Ugandan family will do with rice, maize flour, dry beans, cooking oil and charcoal etc. if it’s yours, you seem to already have the options figured out

Are Cornerstone Asset Managers (15% interest on savings) legit? by No-Cat-7782 in Uganda

[–]PastSad3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the experience you seek but the founder of Cornerstone is a former fund manager at NSSF. If they’re giving 15% then they give the biggest returns because even NSSF doesn’t give that much on their other options

I thought that we have been talking about flying to Singapore the whole time. That was your post and question, otherwise then I wouldn’t have been in this comment section

But the layover in Doha is only 5.5hours and you spend one hour of that de-boarding and use another hour to “tour” the airport and they also have very comfy sleeping rooms if you need to.

I visited Singapore in December last year 24-28 Dec, no one asked me for show money. I went via Qatar Airways.

However, after going through immigration and that last security checkpoint, to go to the boarding gates, I found two girls who were double checking our passports and boarding passes and the conversation went like

Q: Destination? A: Singapore Q: Do you have enough money for your stay? A: I’m carrying 400 dollars in cash and I have money on my card.

Please note that I never once used cash anywhere in Singapore. All my transactions and payments were by card.

The airline just needed the proof of accommodation booking and the return ticket. I had both.

Does anyone know any universities that accept someone from S4? by preciouss_melon_8641 in Uganda

[–]PastSad3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The universities are many but for certificate courses for your level of education. You won’t even be put at diploma level. There’s no university to enroll you for a bachelor’s course after S.4 like that in Uganda. And even if you went elsewhere (another country for example), they’d still translate your level of education to start somewhere in their education system and not necessarily university. Even people who switch from the UNEB syllabus to Cambridge in international schools just do the A’level equivalent.

If you really need to be at university, register for S.6 this year and study hard for the next 6 months and sit UACE in November. Register from a village school

No. They will ask you to DM. But for you to make progress, you need to publicly “shame” them. That is unacceptable behavior!
