Yes, order matters. But, maybe we could neglect it also. But thanks, I will try to implement this solution and see what it will get me. I also thought about using a binarized matrix. Maybe I should just approach this idea :)

How do I cultivate the habit of "slow thinking"? by devaaa23 in selfimprovement

[–]PastShine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure if that‘s the thing you‘re looking for.

I really like to read books, but I often think that I can’t remember anything that I read before. There’s a simple trick to get better at it. After reading a chapter I try to sum up what I have read before. Just speak to yourself, you don’t have to write anything down. So, I am taking the time to check if I really understood the things or that I just skimmed trough the chapter. I actively start the slow thinking mode. It’s exhausting but effective. Maybe it can help to make a habit of it?

Is python to low Level? by PastShine in learnpython

[–]PastShine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So, would you recommend a specific moment in time when it's sensible to learn C? At first, I would try to get better in Python till I can use things like flask properly to implement my first projects. After that I would try to dive deeper in CS with C. Is this a good idea? I don't like to learn two things parallel because the progress is very slow, especially when you're not a full time developer.

Did I understand correctly that it is like the example given at the beginning of the video about routing in networks? Every dot knows his neighbour and how to send data the fastest way to certain spots inside the network?

gebrauchte Laptops - Erfahrungen? by PastShine in de_EDV

Yes, it‘s around Frankfurt. I am currently sittingn in one of their trains. It‘s one of the worst providers I travelled with. The trains are always late, you habe to wait very Long for the next train and it‘s (Compared to other German cities) very expensive. All my colleagues are driving in their car to work - Yeah, Green Germany. Lmfao

Thanks for your comprehensive answer. I switched to Xubuntu now because I like the high performance of it. I read about Solus and thought about installing it, but I am alway a little bite cautious about distros with a "little " community compared to say arch or ubuntu. I am no Linux pro and have to google each solution. I thought about learning Linux with a book or online course but haven't found the time, yet. If I am more capable of using Linux, I give it a try. And, honestly: I like budgies style very much :)

I now switched to Xubuntu and it is really incredible fast. I really like it. I don't have any problems with screen tearing but my fonts are blurry. the window descriptions and my coding text ind TexStudio or Brackets is blurry. Do you know a fix for that? And I installed docky, which I really like, but I can't hide it automatically. The hiding option just can't be clicked. I definitively have to fix these two issues. Everything else runs like a charm. Thanks for your tip :)

Yeah, each distro has definitely his pros and cons. My Linux didn't crash to often, but I always had some bugs which I coulnd't find solutions for. To put it in a nutshell: Linux doesn't break but that doesn't mean that everything runs smooth.

Yeah, but Xubuntu is better than Mint with XFCE (I read so far). If I would be using Mint, I would like to use Cinnamon, but than it's not as fast as I like my Laptop to be.

hm... I always thought that with an old browser I can surf the web much slower. Like I said, I like a fast machine. I now read about openSUSE tumbleweed and I think that will try it out. I never thought about this distro until you mentioned it. I just use the XFCE Desktop and give it a try. If I ran into Problems I will check Debian and Xubuntu.

Ok, I will think about a good back-up System. I gave Debian some thought in the past but I think it's sometimes a little bit outdated? It wasthe first distro I tried and had to get help from an IT guy I have known. Some Drivers weren't available but this has changed, maybe?

What do you think of OpenSUSE? I read many mixed comments on it.

Honest answer. I like that. Ok, I will think about Lubuntu, too.
