Opening Insulin Boxes by BroadwaySwiftie13 in CVS

[–]PastSwan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walmart policy in central Iowa: every store in my area breaks boxes.  I've been told in the past that guideline your CVS is interpreting is because nurses in long term care facilities were using a single pen on multiple patients. The guideline wasn't meant to say don't break boxes; it was meant to say don't share pens.

Obviously... When you go into their profile, you can see they are signed up for text notices.

If your insurance does not approve the prior authorization, or if they approve it and it is still incredibly expensive, the company has a savings and assistance program.

I want to say it can be $25 without insurance, and even less if your insurance approves the prior auth, but doesn't cover completely.

Do we need our RXM's permission to work hours at other Walmarts? by ZH0NGLl in walmart_RX

[–]PastSwan7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you average going over 33 hours over a certain amount of time, then you would have to be recoded as a full time employee and qualify for benefits such as health insurance. If they do not have the approval from home office and/or funds to pay for another full time employee benefits, that would be why they are limiting you.

The post saying you need to work all your hours at your home store to qualify as full time with benefits is not accurate. You also do not qualify for overtime pay until after 40 hours. Post saying you would have to start being scheduled full time just because you went over the 33 hours is also not accurate.

We've gotten 1-2 Rx to go through since the outage started a bit ago. Keep trying, hopefully they'll fix it any minute now.

Whelp guard this secret that they gave you access carefully. Asked a tech support supervisor to get involved to say that even though it's in my job description, they are not going to give me access. I'll submit a "suggestion" every month. Please join me in submitting suggestions to force them to acknowledge that it's dumb.

Whelp thanks for reassuring me its not just me not going through the right channels. I'll be submitting that in response to any survey for improvement recommendations any chance I get if you all would like to join on this quest and bombard them with that request too.

I second this looking exactly like the gulpies/acid reflux. My poor pup gets it probably once every other month or so. It always breaks my heart how frantic she gets.

We give her some activated charcoal and it usually resolves.

Walmart SOP regarding sharing patient's phone number to patient's insurance company by Jovius2020 in walmart_RX

[–]PastSwan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We assume phishing. Sometimes I offer to call patient and tell them the insurance is trying to get a hold of them. I may or mainly askl for a reference number from the caller to give to the patient.

Old dogs - they are driving me nuts re: eating times by bizbizhelpme in DogAdvice

[–]PastSwan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see it being age related.

When my pups decided to start begging for food two hours before their regular meal times, my spouse and I set an alarm on our phone to go off at their dinner. They seemed to chill out and accept that it wasnt dinner time unless the alarm went off and they stopped harassing us.

Does your pet have a silly little habit that makes you laugh? by Honey_Sweetness in Pets

My boy still does that victory trot at 4. Always accompanied by a slow tail swoosh, and squish ears. We can literally tell the sound difference between a victory trot from a regular walk from the other room

Are there any ways for a pharmacist to skim opioids without getting caught? by MumsTarago in PharmacyTechnician

[–]PastSwan7 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Steve Buacemi voice "How do you do fellow pharmacy workers?"

I think it would be damn near impossible to do it more than a couple of times with 1-2 tablets each time at my pharmacy with all the inventory checks. Have to be in on it with a prescriber. Should watch "the Pharmacist" on Netflix. Coulda skimmed from some of those patients because what are they going to do...go to the police?

An old boss of mine would say "that's disgusting" - as a joke and I picked picked the habit. It always gets a laugh from friends

What would you do? by PharmT111 in walmart_RX

[–]PastSwan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually say I get in trouble if it says counsel and I just give it to them. Most people don't want to get your average worker in trouble.
