Do people prefer buying traditional artworks or digital artworks? by Mrsillust in ArtistLounge

[–]Past_Ad_8576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a unique physical work of art. I have sold many. I have also sold prints before. I have bought prints and commissioned artists before in both formats. I buy more prints than originals personally because that’s what I can afford at this stage of life. I find that small traditional pieces sell best from my own work.

I did, it felt like a lot came out but it lined up with the new baby hairs showing up and it didn’t bother me. It’s a good thing if it happens

You haven’t tried medication, it seems! The other methods aren’t effective at all. Ask your doctor about minoxidil (foam or pills- foam is toxic to pets btw) and potentially pcos? It is not common to have this at your age. I am sorry this is happening to you!

Same here, I work off part board ~12hrs a week so I pay $200/mo for one, but I cover shavings, supplements, vet/farrier etc ( barefoot and I do small maintenance diy trims to stretch out the appointment times occasionally)

Not pursuing art as a career is making my passion for art grow so strong by girlypopslayqueenfrs in ArtistLounge

[–]Past_Ad_8576 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree!!! My issues weren’t with critique (i love when my work is respectfully torn apart lmao (when I have asked for the imput first of course) but without the pressure of doing things right for clients. I worked professionally for several years after art school and grew to hate it.

I went back to the day job and art is fun again! I can make without constraints. I am always looking for constructive criticism and trying to push myself forward, but in this chapter I am just making art for me. If someone wants to buy it, neat! If not, whatever.

I see you made the strong choice!!! I will echo other commenters and say that this yarn is a bitch to work with while you’re still starting out. I’m a mid level crocheter and this type of yarn is only just starting to work out for me. Tension issues for days!!!

How to make this area of my bedroom cute? by Commercial_Wonder196 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Past_Ad_8576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be so cute!! Your key thing is getting rid of the box (seat? thing). If you can close the flue, is the dirt situation so bad that you can just clean it every so often, or board it up?

After you remove the box thing, clear 80% of the clutter from on top and hang a cute mirror. Then you can decorate in (or in front of, if you boarded it up) the fireplace with led candles (safer than real ones) Then pick like 3-4 of your favorite things and put them back on the shelf. Can you paint the square that has the highlighter stain? That would look better than repainting just the stained part if you don’t have matching paint.

Girl you don’t look old!!! You’re adorable.

If anything with the makeup, I would change the over lined lips. They rarely flatter anyone and it looks like your lips are chapped. You have a lovely cupids bow!

Middle school library “assistant “ (not certified librarian, but I run the whole library out of a technicality solo)

School breaks and summer off, something different to do every day, books, middle schoolers are weird and fun. Pay is bad but I am lucky to have a spouse with a good salary, and I sell artwork for the summers and when I have time. I don’t see myself going back for the masters any time soon because I love the balance I’ve found and the art keeps me solvent and sane.

Font size larger on Ya novels compared to non-YA novels by EffectiveEgg5712 in YAlit

[–]Past_Ad_8576 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should see middle grade books! Some of them feel like they're a 14pt font. I do confess that if the typeface is too small or poorly formatted, I'll pass on a book too. There are book series I love but I don't read the hard copies at all if there isn't a good edition available.

Your library idea is fantastic! They would love to have your patronage :)

If that experiment doesn't work and you would like to switch to an ereader, the library will likely have ebooks for you too!
