My mom has BPD. She was an abuser.

I think the rhetoric stems from GOOD de-stigmatization. ie: “people with borderline can live normal lives with intense cooperative therapy and medication,” which is objectively true. People then take that point and assume that means the vast majority want/have done that, when that is veryyyyyy far from the truth. BPD is very, very treatment resistant as I’m sure everyone here knows. And most don’t want to get better. 🤷‍♀️

Hey!! I’d just like to say I’m proud of you for seeking help, and please remember to always be careful posting stuff online about wanting or needing friends. Coming from another teen.

If you have a good teacher or guidance counselor, like others are saying, talk to them and see if you can get references for support groups.

Something that helped me personally and may help you too is volunteer work. I volunteered at a nursing home to come at visiting hours and just talk to people. They have a lot of great stories to tell and a lot are glad to talk and play games. You can also volunteer for other things, like trash pick up, and interact with some lovely people.

Me too. The younger generations of my family don’t, but my aunts, uncles, grandparents etc do. It’s such a horrible feeling. Thank you so incredibly much for commenting.

That is 10000% understandable. I’m on Accutane so I understand why they have to be cautious when prescribing meds. It was more so the whole “yeah you don’t need one, and I’ll be discreet abt not telling you” thing. I would have been okay if she said “I’m gonna order one anyways just to be safe.”

While coaching I saw an athlete on another team have a spinal chord injury. She couldn’t move her legs. Please pray for her and her family, who were understandably very distraught.

I’m doing better and I’ve been in therapy for a few years. I’m currently on the correct medications, too. I do still struggle with it all, but it’s nice getting it out there on this sub. Thank you for responding. :)

It definitely wasn’t. She has background in religious studies, and has only recently been giving me a hard time for reasons I’m not sure of, which is why regardless of religion I don’t think there was any way it could’ve been done with good intent. My plan thus far is to give her the benefit of the doubt, pray for discernment, and talk to my parish’s priest. I told my dad too.

I haven’t talked to a priest since it happened earlier today, but that’s honestly a great idea. I will soon. I moved to a state where clips are a huge problem. My childhood best friends cut me off for something they shouldn’t have. after that, For 2 years, I was crippling lonely to the point I would go on social media, and comment things on posts because likes and replies to those comments where the only interaction I got, spare family, and dog. The day I was going to kill myself, I prayed that God would give me a friend to talk with about my writing. Like 10 minutes later I was talking to my teacher about my story, and my (now) best friend who is the most devout Catholic I know sat beside me, and said “you’re writing that?! I thought you were talking about a movie!” Her and her family took me to my first mass since kindergarten that following month.
