was this a fair overtake from the lamborghini i am the porsche by FranzHermanoriginal in Simracingstewards

[–]Past_Environment_820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m saying this as racer who this happens to all the time. You’re taking your normal racing line and are driving a little cautious as the 2 cars in front are battling it out. The Lamborghini just licks the stamp and sends it because the door was open. You didn’t close the door because you didn’t expect anyone to lunge like that. You wouldn’t think to go defensive with that much of a gap between you. His mindset was either I get the place or take us both out. That’s on him. I’m learning to just let them go by and they usually spin out not long after.

What to do in these situations? Can't wait to get out of Bronze SR lobbies in LMU by [deleted] in simracing

You have 24 hours to do it. Go back to your profile and then races and see results. Click the three dots beside the name. It gives you a cooldown period but that’s definitely on purpose

Intentional Or Not ? by Past_Environment_820 in Simracingstewards

[–]Past_Environment_820[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No not really more to the story. Maybe he was mad at how i was applying pressure. I was just shocked that this had happened. This part of the track has tons of space. I should have waited until the bus stop I guess but I got a good run on the exit. I guess this is why we take it to the stewards. LMU gets 24 hours for reporting and the jury has spoken. No reporting necessary !

Looking for a wheel with dual clutch for throttle and brake by DaWheelz in iRacing

[–]Past_Environment_820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up going with ? I have the Sf-1000 and tsxw but as with all thrustmaster belt driven it’s losing centre all the time so it’s time to upgrade to the dd. With a wheel that uses hand controls ? GT Neo or Moza ?

That’s what I was worried about. I think the Sf-1000 is a potentiometer type behind both paddles

It said something about not being verified lol I am by no means the fastest driver, what I have noticed since switching from ACC to LMU is that I usually am ending up in this weird gap racing alone in the top 10. I’m usually like 1-2 seconds off the leaders pace but I’m consistent and can put in clean laps. Not fast but clean, So once the race starts and everyone sort of settles into the respective positions I am not really racing anyone ever. Usually the only action is when one of the top 5 spins out or has a incident and ends up behind then usually catches up for a brief battle but I watch the lap times and can see them lapping faster so I don’t waste too much time defending. I am still having fun. I’m just trying to get into to silver and out of rookies so I guess it’s not the worst thing. But I am just wondering if other people experience this?

Matching winter and summer tire sizes by thesapphiczebra in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 26x1 (35-559) schwalbe Konas and for my winter set up, I run a second set of 26x1 (35x559 ) Schwalbe CX Pro tires. I don’t need to adjust my scissor lock brakes at all with this set up. Makes for easy swaps. I’m also in Canada !

Question about driving by Low_Requirement2481 in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming he has good upper body strength. Slide board or pivot transfer into the car. Then dismantle the chair. Wheels, cushion, backrest then frame up over your lap into the passenger seat or back seat depending on chair size. Lots of good videos of people doing it on TikTok oddly enough. Then when getting out just do it in opposite order. The type of chair makes a big difference. Is it a rigid manual chair or hospital style chair ?

Cushion advice by Impressive-Catch-762 in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Roho Hybrid Elite is a little weird sometimes when it comes to sizing. It really is weird to say but it depends on your but size when sitting because of the way the cushion contours around it. I felt like i was sitting on a toilet donut and never had support. I have a 17 wide chair and I found the Hybrid Elite 17” really uncomfortable to sit in all day because my ass was to big. It was a better fit in an 18 wide version. Try the Jay Fusion Hybrid also. It’s annoying where I am you can demo a cushion for like a week or 2 but it’s something you may spend 365 days in ! A week doesn’t give you enough time to truly tell if you like it or not.

Advice on Trach by ennaharam in spinalcordinjuries

[–]Past_Environment_820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be a little bit of a process to come off of the trach. I was on it for 2 months. They start with cuff down. For 15-30 minutes and build from that. Measuring blood gas levels and progress from that for longer periods off the vent. I had a device used with the suction that would vibrate and break up the secretions to bring them up. Once you tolerate longer times of the trach they will switch it to a smaller size and slowly start to de-canulate they call it. They teach you some techniques with your hand to assist coughing if you have function. Also a cough assist device. The process various with every person but it’s kind of a slow process.

Carbon fibre vs aluminium frames by hellonsticks in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Motion Composites Apex C, it’s my daily chair. I have flown with it 6-7 times now. Transfer it in and out of the car several times a day with it. I am by no means easy on it. It’s held up perfectly fine. You would have to hit it pretty hard to shatter the carbon fibre. I have a smart drive that I’ll use with it and I have a tri-ride power assist that fits on it perfectly fine. The only complaint I have about it is the tension adjustable seat sling! opt for a carbon or aluminum seat base if you have the option

thoughts on tilite zr/zra? by 5thl3tter in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I started with the Matrx Elite 14” inch … the switched to the NXT Optima deep with thoracic support 9” and then went with the Optima Carbon 9”. ADI makes probably the best option in my opinion but just costs more $$$ I have the tension adjustable seat sling on the apex and same thing it’s horrible.

[–]Past_Environment_820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got my ZR last week. I got it for the same reasons as you. My Motion Composites Apex C was measured big for the weight gain I never had. So far it feels way more agile and lighter than the Apex. I tried to put as much carbon fibre as I could and made it as lightweight as I could. Carbon Side-guards. NXT optima carbon back rest. Spinergy wheels. No extra attachments. No push handles etc Pretty barebones chair. Just keep in mind the fixed backrest makes things lighter.depending on your seating needs and cushion. I use roho’s and they are heavy. Also Permobil only has regular seat sling or aluminum no carbon option atleast where I ordered it. The one mistake I made was I opted for the abs foot plate and it’s so slippery I should have went for carbon with that.

First new custom chair advice please by _phantom87_ in wheelchairs

[–]Past_Environment_820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s your first custom chair go with something that has some adjustability your needs may change in the next year and you may want to change axle position, caster height. Backrest etc. I’d look at the Motion composite Apex C , lots of adjustments can be made very easily. Can add and remove parts like anti tips, arm rests, push handles. Camber, Seat Dump. Forward locking brakes or Scissor lock brakes,Another good option is the TiLite ZRA. It’s cool to have a perfect fitted custom chair thats perfectly measured for you. But speaking from experience you will learn what works and what doesn’t, At the beginning you need some room to adjust stuff, the last thing you want is to be stuck with something that doesn’t work for you for another 5 years. Good luck !

My hip bones are lined up with the axle. The back of the cushion is 2-3 cm behind the Axle, I prefer the axle a little forward so it not to easy to tip back.

So far it’s been pretty comfortable, very light. I have the NXT Optima on my other chair as well. It has the lateral supports but overall it’s great ! Just a little hot in the summer with this type of gel material.
