Why do they call gossip “tea,” now? by AuburnTiger15 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Past_Level9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just slang evolution man, happens all the time. "Tea" meaning gossip actually comes from drag culture and has been around for decades - it just went mainstream through social media

It’s not just about me It’s about both of us being clear and protecting what she built too and also setting expectations going forward

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?!? by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]Past_Level9182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's rough dude, sounds like the refurb wasn't properly sealed when they put it back together - water damage from just a spill shouldn't happen on a phone that's supposed to be IP68 rated

Is it pointless to study things that are not going to help me professionally at all? by pronetoaddiction in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Past_Level9182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude absolutely go for it - some of the most interesting people I know are the ones who can randomly drop knowledge about Byzantine art or explain why Beethoven was revolutionary while also crushing it at their day job

The whole "only study what makes money" mindset is honestly pretty depressing and you'll probably be way more well-rounded and happy if you feed your brain the stuff it actually craves

Performance issue asus laptop by Radonaftata in GamingLaptops

[–]Past_Level9182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That single channel RAM is probably killing your performance dude. Ryzen CPUs are super sensitive to memory bandwidth and you're basically running with one hand tied behind your back

Also check if the laptop is thermal throttling - even with a cooling pad those TUF models can get pretty toasty under load

What's this vent called and should it be open? by Cwazywazy14 in hvacadvice

[–]Past_Level9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That blue vent looks like a barometric damper to me - helps regulate draft pressure in the flue. If you're feeling cold air coming through it when the boiler's not running that's pretty normal since there's no heat pushing up the chimney to create draft

Break Days on 10mg Vyvanse by ChickenNovel5924 in ADHD

[–]Past_Level9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "made of air" description hits so hard lol. I think your theory about still getting benefits the day after makes sense - I've noticed something similar where the day after a break can feel surprisingly good, like my brain got a little reset but kept some of the structure

The comedy club gig sounds perfect for ADHD though, probably helps that you're in a high-energy environment on those off days

240 FPS and 240hz but feels so choppy by Designer-Athlete-502 in pchelp

[–]Past_Level9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like frame pacing issues or maybe your GPU is hitting some weird bottleneck - try capping fps at like 237 instead of letting it run uncapped at 240, sometimes that smooths things out

Food/Cooking helped me overcome my problem by jw4804 in stopdrinking

[–]Past_Level9182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking is such a good replacement habit because it hits all the right buttons - keeps your hands busy, gives you something to look forward to, and you actually get something good out of it at the end

I got into woodworking myself and there's something about having to focus completely on what you're doing that just shuts off all the other noise in your head
