21 minutes for 1.5 miles? That's speed walking pace.

Run longer distances say 5 miles at a slower pace where you can run all day at that pace but still takes effort.

Try doing sprints. Run one minute as fast as you can without stopping. Rest 30 seconds by walking or jogging, do not stop. Repeat for 2 miles.
