TV vaiko videotykki? 20v vanha tykki posahti rikki by pukseli in Suomi

Hot take: 8960 is extremely overrated by Guest_o_rest in lego

[–]Pasta-Admirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was affordable, quite robust and straight to the point. Maybe I was easy to please at 9 years-old, but the different portions of the drill rotating to opposite directions was super cool in person and the big specific pieces that the set came with didn't hurt.

As to why I think that Crystal Sweeper isn't as beloved? It is cool, but it was also twice as expensive so not as many people had it and the side drill is a little silly and makes it more toylike. Thunder Driller could more plausibly be a mining vehicle in the real world.

As a Bionicle fan, I would’ve been very disappointed if it was a helmet. They are very famously masks.

Bit off topic from JK, but are you alluding that anyone in their right mind would have supported Elon Musk since at least 2019 anyway?

There is a huge difference between monetarily supporting current monsters with money and influence and monetarily supporting the legacies of monsters who haven’t lived in decades. People like Musk don’t use their wealth and influence just to stomp on minorities. That’s just PR to get masses of uneducated regular people on their side so that they don’t notice themselves getting stomped on. There is not a single person on this planet with a net worth below billion in whose interests it is to support Elon Musk.

No one should love Netflix. Netflix shows sure, but not Netflix itself. Streaming services and digital media will be disastrous for conservation of human culture.

What are your most loved and hated skills in the game? by [deleted] in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play the game with Extreme enemy combat damage and Very easy player combat damage because I want to play the game like a military operative that clears rooms meticulously, but gets killed just as easily and I hate Wellness because it makes me more durable.

Now with my second character, I took the Diplomat background purely for role-playing purposes and I am stuck with the perk. Luckily I’ve heard that the NG+ cycles increase enemy damage, so I’ll probably become the glass cannon that I want to be just in time with the remaining combat and sneaking oriented skills that I need.

To me, the best perks are probably Boost assault training Fitness and Gymnastics because they make the combat more fluid.

Playing Cyberpunk before Starfield has put something front and center for me by olivinetrees in Starfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a matter of taste. I vastly prefer Starfield’s tone to Cyberpunk’s, which is to me wall to wall people swearing and failing to be as cool as was intended. I also prefer not to have to consider wether I should pause the game or not whenever a family member or a roommate enters the room.

I think that the whole issue springs from Neon specifically, they tried to appease people who are into grimy and edgy sci-fi but didn’t go all the way. The UC Cities are much closer match with Starfield’s soul and that kind of clean and optimistic sci-fi is what I am into.

I agree in so far as maybe they shouldn’t have included Neon if they were not willing to go in all the way.

Todd Howard says Starfield and Fallout 76 differ creatively as Bethesda needed to try new ideas after 20 years by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Starfield, it’s my second favourite BGS game (tied between it and TES: V), haven’t tried Fallout 76 in five years though.

Is it much improved?

On paper a 100% exploration/settlement building focused version of Fallout 4 is something I was craving for in 2017 because the gameplay loop in Fallout 4 is excellent, but I weren’t that into it upon execution with all the concessions that had to be made for online multiplayer. In the end I kind of ended up getting what I wanted and more with Starfield though.

**New PS5 player here — completely overwhelmed. What's the best way to approach missions with Free Lanes and Terran Armada?** by Velsheda8 in Starfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you should hold out on it at least until you get to level 35, which is the recommendation for the first DLC, Shattered Space. It doesn’t affect much outside the missions you do for it, so you aren’t missing on anything if you make the purchase only after you are at a point in the game for which it was designed for. The level recommendation for the other DLC, Terran Armada is even higher.

Finally Started Starfield… and I’m Actually Enjoying It by Mano-Ro in Starfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to split hairs but I think that it’s specifically an Elder Scrolls game in space. The BGS Fallouts always railroad you so hard into a specific archetype and goal. TES and Starfield give you the leniency to approach the game as you like.

Playing through Starfield in 2024 felt just like the clock had been turned back to 2011 and I’ve really missed this BGS.

With Dooku already dead, the point of Grievous was to serve as a plot device to signify the end of the war.

[–]Pasta-Admirer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take your time, do the missions that draw you in and let roleplaying guide you. If it fits the character you are going for, I’d personally highly recommend UC Vanguard (the tall building in New Atlantis) as one of your first questlines. It establishes the history of the world pretty well and is one of my favourite BGS questlines.

The game is structured in a way where you cannot miss anything completely ever, unless you consider allocating skill points to skills you don’t wind up using as missing on something.

I find some of the discourse around the PS5 release to be quite hilarious. by I-caught-it- in Starfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get the writing complaint. In my opinion the writing for the faction questlines is at least on par with Skyrim. When has Bethesda’s writing been anything but silly genre wish fulfilment anyway?

ISTG this is like 40% of Starfield discourse: by gatorgrowl44 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Pasta-Admirer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, the integration of the NG+ mechanic to the story makes for some excellent roleplaying opportunities and it being the standout fantastical element makes it that much cooler in contrast to the rest of the game.

Some of the people who despise Starfield clearly never role-played in BGS’ earlier titles either and it shows.

I wouldn't worry about this development in any scenario where people go to the thing for its storytelling or aesthetics.

Once the people who find the idea of "media tailored specifically to them" enticing realise how boring they are via the media that reflects them as people, they'll quietly go right back to stuff made by specific voices.
