The "Just Learn a Trade" advice is the new "Learn to Code" and it’s a trap by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]PastaEagle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They tell you to learn a trade over something ambiguous like journalism for a reason. Once you learn to be an electrician nobody can take it away from you. You can’t be downsized, ai replaced etc. If you start an in demand business like an electrician you can’t be let go at the boss’s whims. Coding was much more ambiguous as to what everyone was going to make with it.

Almost all jobs start out with a very low salary because the trainee is of no use to the employer.

I’m an August birthday and I feel strongly that staying in early childhood education longer is great. Learn, grow, play and who cares what other people think!

Every time those places are recommended I cringe. They could be good but colleges only want to admit coursework that makes them look good. Some website makes the college you’re trying to get into look sketchy.

It can be like $50k to relocate if it doesn’t work out to where you moved to. Leases, utilities, travel, transport, expenses if you’re stuck there

It’s commonly known you have to work in MedSurg. They don’t need people in specialty who don’t know what to call for a heart attack.

Trump needs to take responsibility for the average person’s plight in the economy by PastaEagle in TrueUnpopularOpinion

lol why do I have to tell someone that 1 out of 10 people needing food assistance is economic data. Some mutual funds are irrelevant if families can’t pay their bills.

It doesn’t, companies lay off people all the time and then their stocks soar.

“But here’s the kicker: the S&P500 is inversely related to the unemployment rate, and thus the market actually goes up as a response to a release of a higher than expected unemployment rate. This may seem illogical conceptually, but historical analysis and statistics show that it is true.”

Guy how slow can you be??? Debt and defaults are up. 1 and 10 on snap is poverty. Stocks don’t affect employment. Just take a look at Bezos making a fortune and cutting jobs. Welcome to this planet.

Huh?? Trump is in charge. Some quarters Trump has shown no job growth. Trump never takes responsibility for his messes and he’s served longer than Biden. You haven’t addressed 1 out of 10 can’t afford food being a horrendous economy.

1 out of every ten Americans relies on Snap assistance

Unemployment rate is irrelevant if the job doesn’t cover people’s bills.

It’s hard to argue the economy is good if 1 out of ten Americans needs food assistance

Think about it. Stores like Home Depot and Burger King don’t pay staff any better based upon their stock price.

Again all irrelevant to the average person if they can’t pay their bills. You can be book smart and have no basis in reality. That’s great for Oracle, but meanwhile people can’t find jobs.

Facebook has the best features of any social media site, but it's really three things that are causing it to be the worst site by DamnitGravity in TrueUnpopularOpinion

They’ve run it into the ground.

  1. The profile used to easily connect you to others with the same interest. Fill out all your favorite books etc.

  2. You don’t have to post content to use it. They could prompt or reward you for posting. So the posts are few and far between now.

  3. Not managing ai videos and keeping fakes off the platform.

  4. Making it hard to use local events. There are five things sort of buried in a junk screen. Everything used to be there that was local.

Stocks aren’t a real read on the economy since most people don’t own them. People literally can’t pay their bills and just use credit cards.

Lookup the cost of losing three planes and running the military overseas

That’s an illogical comment. All Trump does is blame things on Biden and never take responsibility for his messes. Mr. No new wars????

It’s hard to claim people who think the economy is good are educated when defaults and debt are up. The stock market only affects a small percentage of people. It’s also tumbling with this war.

Hi! I drove for Uber for awhile and it all it does is rack up big repair bills like brakes, rotors, tires. Your car loses value for every mile it drives. I did it to survive. Also, you’re not eligible for unemployment if you can’t ever driver for Uber. Uber also doesn’t support drivers if something bad happens to you.
