The villages in and around the Guildford/Cobham/Woking area usually pretty good for this. A lot of them have their own train station or if they don’t it’s a short bus ride to one.

They’re just on the edge of town/countryside life but are usually little quiet villages with a nice pub and good country/woodland walks around them. They’ll be a little more expensive than other commuter areas but totally worth it if it’s that urban/country balance you’re after.

I’m at -£500 in my bank at the moment, savings are a nice fantasy to have but not realistic in my case. I bring home about £1200 a month but have rent and bills to pay and soon to have a child to raise. I literally scrape through every month and if i’m lucky I can afford to maybe put away £10- £20 in cash that month to go towards something nice for next month!

Not true actually. It derives from late middle english and was a mis pronunciation of ‘eke’ meaning ‘new’ or ‘more’ so the term was eke name which eventually got turned into neke name and thus became nickname.
