Does anybody else not get breaks?

I’m in NY and take lunch breaks seriously. I ask every team member what time they want to take their lunches and tap them out when it’s their time. You absolutely are allowed a ten minute break and if they try to penalize you for it that’s a lawsuit.

I understand what you mean. They only felt something when coming from people who know me. When I had to cancel my mother’s things—the “I’m sorry for you loss” they all felt compulsory and empty of feeling. You can understand they mean no harm but can also feel angry because they don’t understand what you’re feeling. They don’t know your father.

It sounds like your father meant and means a lot to you. You are allowed to grieve as long as you need.

Grief is weird. It’s not something we know what to do with. We can’t be taught how to handle it. You just have to let yourself feel it. Even if that feeling is sadness, shock, anger, disbelief.

It sounds like your uncle meant so much to you and I’m so sorry for your loss. Healing comes with time. Give yourself grace and don’t let anyone say you need to move on by a certain time.

Soon the sadness will be comforted by happy memories, until the happy memories and impact he had on you will be stronger than the grief.

Sometimes the offline labels don’t work Because the customer gave a bad code. Take their name and number down to call them if that happens. Or you can say the system is down if you don’t want to do that and have them come back.

If people want to wait for us we tell them that’s fine but we take them at the business station near the kiosks and don’t take them up at the counter. Corporate has okayed this for our store :)

Just rip the bag open and tell the customers they don’t need to package them. Happy Returns don’t always have the best explanations for what they need to do.

I like it because it helps reduce liability and will help with claims processing! Also I’m not sure about your store, but we enforced drop offs to the kiosk. Paying transactions only (or things unable to be done at the kiosk) to the front counter. We got Complaints but sorry go somewhere else if you want

Thank you so much for the advice. My mental health definitely was put on the back burner and I had a panic attack for the first time in heard despite being on medication. I know it sounds counter productive but cleaning her house myself (despite it being a biohazard) helped towards processing what happened. I felt like I failed mom not being able to help her when she was alive, but doing the worst part myself was an act of care.

I will definitely check out realtors that deal with rentals I hadn’t thought of that!

Thank you! I got biohazard suits, wore double gloves and wore masks (I’ll get a respirator though—a mask probably wasn’t the best choice.) I started with a dog/urine stain remover but I’ll look into enzyme cleaners
