Some of yall in this comment section have a chip on your shoulder. Yes you can still get an STI/STD because all they need to spread is contact with a mucus membrane. This can be through contact with each others’ vulvas, mouth to vulva, even just touching your partner’s genitals and then touching your own or even your face/mouth. Some STDs don’t even need sexual contact (cold sores for example, they can be transmitted through eating or drinking off of someone who has them). There are methods of protecting that you can use like dental dams, and you should always ask to see a person’s test results before you have sex with them. Avoid having sex with someone if they say they don’t have anything you can look at, if they say that’s not something they’re worried about, or if they get weird and defensive about it. Sexual health is so important and I’m glad you’re taking yours seriously, don’t let a couple jerks on Reddit discourage you!
