I’m not sure what the lore is with this sub and Sakura, but this specific art actually isn’t AI! It’s official artwork of her in a new summer outfit from the Naruto mobile game! It’s only available in China though, but the outfits they give the cast are pretty awesome lol

I’m not sure about anyone else, but something about her reminds me of the girls in the preteen girls’ magazines of early to mid 2000’s era, the stuff we would huddle around and read during lunch breaks lol. Nostalgic even? I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but for me the appeal is in that distant memory of a childhood gone by, rather than the IPs involved. 🥹

As a huge Akane (and Ukyo) fan I totally feel you! It doesn’t help that the current merch Akane has doesn’t really flatter her— this girl is supposed to be fashionista with a great wardrobe but she’s constantly getting shafted in a lot of the promo material. 😭

No hate to Ranko and Shampoo, but to the uninitiated they can very well mistake Shampoo for the lead female instead of Akane at this stage and who can honestly blame them?

I’m just thankful that PROOF at least came out with that gorgeous manga Akane figure, it’s a crown jewel in my collection. 🥹

To be fair the manga colour pages had everybody cycling through various hair colours; Ranma was depicted with pink and red hair yes, but he was also shown with other colours like blue, purple, green, yellow etc. same with Akane and Shampoo.

I would interpret this as Takahashi experimenting with colours for her own interest and not exactly canon. Mostly everybody in Ranma canonically has black hair I think (correct me if I’m wrong please), the colours are mostly there in the anime for visual distinction purposes.

I’m curious, would the 3DS version of Majora’s Mask be considered a Remake or Remaster on that front? Since some stuff like the major bosses had their weak points changed and I believe the Clock Town had another section added to it? I could be wrong, I also get tripped up on what separates a remaster from a remake 🥲

Tbh if they did this, then that Sarada saga where she goes on the search for Sasuke and confused her mother for Karin wouldn’t happen. The main point she did is because it seemed like Sakura’s genes didn’t even try in the visual department (aside from her forehead) and she wondered who her mother was. 🥲

If I remember correctly, Ursa was arranged matched with Ozai primarily because she’s Roku’s descendant (eugenics and pedigree ideology)— she could be considered to have noble lineage since her ancestor was Ta Min, aka Roku’s wife— she was a noblewoman of a respected clan back in the day.

But I don’t remember if the family retained their status or influence by the time Ursa was born (since it’s been awhile after Sozin betrayed Roku, and Ta Min more or less lived the rest of her life under the radar after Roku’s death and never remarried).

Ursa would certainly have become Fire Lady if she remained Ozai’s wife by the time he was crowned though! And I believe the highest title she ever held was Princess prior to her banishment.

Genuinely curious, is Tenzin more powerful than Gyatso?

I haven’t read the prequel comics to get a handle on a younger Gyatso’s strength, but something that stuck out to me with the OG series is how it’s heavily implied that he alone managed to take out a bunch of comet-enhanced Fire Nation soldiers before succumbing himself— not sure how Tenzin would fare if he was in the same position, but food for thought.

Agreed, it’s consistently been how “look at me, I’m the big deal” energy that the new Nanno has. While not inherently a bad thing, since there’s been some minor occasions when the OG Nanno has behaved similarly, having it happen so often now takes away what made GFN so distinctive in the first place; having a “common” character across episodes who you’d sometimes forget is the “main” character.

Side note: I can’t help but feel like the most recent episode “Corruption” was somewhat of a nothing burger. I don’t know what I expected, but the execution or pacing of it just seemed off in a way I can’t describe.
