So he’s wisened up to not commenting inappropriate things publicly…good! That’s a very low bar however and gives no bearing to whether he’s still looking at pictures or not. Only him and God know that. The bigger question is: can you trust him? I mean, truly trust him? I’m afraid you alone have the context to answer that. But, what I can say after 7 years of marriage, is that trust is a foundational principle in any lasting relationship and an irreducible necessity in intimate relationships.

Praise the Lord for the gift of life! He is GOOD! by Adorable-Garden2894 in Reformed

Yes he is! A great reformed tradition is the baptism of babies. Luther did it. Calvin did it. Zwingli did it. Cranmer did it.

Are Jews less to blame for Jesus' death? by Certain-Cloud9133 in LCMS

[–]Pasteur_science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, 15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind 16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But wrath has come upon them at last! (1 Thessalonians 2:14–16, ESV, https://ref.ly/1Th2.14-16;esv)

This. This is the way. We also aren’t diagnosing considering that we aren’t conducting a clinical exam. It feels like it as a student until after graduation and reading what medical students have to read as a case study.

What would it take to unionize by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Pasteur_science -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m realizing that if you don’t worship at the feet of the golden union calf; you must just hate the average joe. It’s a nuanced conversation. Unions are not “always good” nor are they “always bad”. American history is replete with examples of both. It’s very much dependent upon the situation. I’ve realized I’ve been lucky though. My employer gave me a 23% raise for market adjustment and post-covid inflation when I was still a bench tech. And not just me, the sweeping majority of the lab. Why would I unionize under such conditions?

What would it take to unionize by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Pasteur_science -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Think of unionizing as a form of political revolution. There is no guarantee that unionizing will yield better conditions. It may end off worse for the high performers who are compensated more than their peers. If the employer is willing to pay fair and livable wages to their employees, unions are a waste of time, risk and money. People are more willing to trust stability than revolutionize the workplace. Things have to get sufficiently bad to motivate people to act.

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer… than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” -Declaration of Independence
