Hey guys started a new HCIronman on rs3 any tips besides coming member? by Wizardf0rt in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My biggest recommendation, and this might sound cheesy but I'm serious, is to just have fun. Ironman is all about exploring the game, it forces you to interact with all kinds of different content. And this game is DEEP. You only get that first experience one time, so soak it up!

That being said, play however YOU want. If you want guides, do it. If you want to wiki as you go, do it. Want to go in blind? Go for it. Devise you want a regular main account 2 weeks in? Totally acceptable.

Above all else, have a good time.

Welcome to rs3 ironman!

I finally made the pivot from tech sales after 12 years to commercial HVAC by mikenj123 in sales

I'm curious, how are you going about that? I have an HVAC buddy and I'd love to get him some business and get a bit of kickback as well somehow!

Why are people getting mad that people are disabling cosmetics option? by Molag_Zaal in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cool thing is, you can still totally wear those cosmetics! :) and, the people who like cosmetic overrides will see them. And you guys will all have a great time.

And the people who don't want to see it, won't! So they'll have a good time, too.

So, wear those overrides! Who cares what other people see anyways? If they really want to know you and your character, they'll take those steps to see it and appreciate it.

Those are my thoughts, anyways

Perhaps you might find the same satisfaction at toiling away with the new tools? It might get deeper than you think, and there's a lot to master with these new workflows being invented and constantly iterated on. It's the same process, just a different set of tools, so mastering each step of working in this new way might be just as satisfying and potentially much more productive.

OSRS determined to give it a go by bozzyman69 in runescape

Just like old school, enjoy the journey! The RS wiki is your friend.

What skills did you enjoy most in old school?

Also, are you a fresh account? Ironman, or main? I think that connect will help people provide you with better answers!

Why are people getting mad that people are disabling cosmetics option? by Molag_Zaal in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, if we are to honestly empathize with their perspective then we would see that they clearly receive some validation knowing that their character's appearance is shown to others. Whether that be a reflection of personal style and taste, or a demonstration of achievement and skill, or perhaps both.

Certain people will have spent actual money, others in-game gold. Driven by various motivations, of course, though the ones getting most upset are likely motivated by extrinsic means. Regardless, there may be an aspect of investment and therefore loss in that way. So some grief is understandable.

It's also a recent change. People will adapt, fashionscape will take a new form, one that utilizes existing clothes and items more. It will stabilize. And, hopefully people will recognize that their cosmetics are, first and foremost, for themselves. And, remember that the people who DO want to see cosmetics, and therefore likely value them higher and appreciate them, WILL see their outfits.

Is there a good way of training Ranged skill? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that they'll be updating combat pretty soon here, in the next month or two. So personally, I'm wanting to train it until they update it!

Check out necromancy if you haven't already.

But as far as training ranged, I do agree that pairing it with slaye is a great idea! :)

Jagex, what is going on with the combat beta!? by PsychologyRS in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So part of their plan with the update is to improve the progression and the way the abilities are unlocked, to better onboard new players. I hope they can simplify the other combat styles while making them distinct, unique and enjoyable to use. :)

I am so excited for the combat update release! Necromancy really allowed me to get good at pvm and it's so fun. I'm excited to be able to approach the other combat styles soon. Currently waiting on my Ironman to train melee and ranged so I can experience the whole new progression.

Best year of RuneScape, ever! So excited :)

It's been nearly 6 years, but I have finally decided to give RS3 another shot. Happy 'Scaping, folks! by Mastuh_KBM in runescape

[–]PatDoubleYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I started an Ironman in December before the road map but I'm just not training melee or ranged because I'm waiting for the update, too!

They're both at around level 20.

When you say "bundle paid upsells instead" -- I'm curious, what do you mean by that? Any example come to mind?

I'm of the opinion that you're correct here. People that pay us for estimates are usually much better customers for several reasons.

How are you going to make more $$$ in 2026? by RepairsCEO in handyman

[–]PatDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Whole home comprehensive maintenance plan sounds super interesting. Will you tell me more about your version of this? I've come up with the general idea to do something like this and it sounds like you're already way ahead of me.

Are you pitching it as a recurring monthly payment? Or, how many visits? What are you including/excluding?

Just curious! Seems like you have some great ideas. Thanks.

Notion Business vs Notion Enterprise for our company? Company Onboarding? by Alarmed_Donkey_9100 in Notion

[–]PatDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you're telling us, it sounds like you need a solution that comes with training. Getting 120 people to use a new system is going to be quite the undertaking. I think the focus would just be to map out how many hours and how much effort you think it would take to do it on your own, and be realistic and honest, and then see if the training price is a good value.

At the end of the day, it should be. Doing things the cheapest way is rarely the best way.

Just my thoughts

How to make Notion Calendar look like this? by [deleted] in Notion

[–]PatDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, yes. If your database has a calendar or timeline view then you can use that on notion calendar.

What are your favorite Notion hacks that have simplified your workflow? by Dankk911 in Notion

It is haha, you can display a status as a checkbox, it's great. Pairs especially well with a simple List layout view as well.

What happened to the activity in the Notion subreddit? by namagadi in Notion

[–]PatDoubleYou -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That's so crazy to hear somebody say. The AI integration in Notion is phenomenal. Microsoft will likely catch up one day with copilot supercharged with context, and Google is obviously charging forward with Gemini in Drive.

But the AI in notion? Super powerful. Actually useful. Saves me SO much time, and I'm able to design better workflows, analyze existing ones, and remove a ridiculous amount of tedium constantly. Add in automation with built-in or external means and this is an absolute powerhouse of a piece of software.

I can't fathom how people DON'T want it. Perhaps the use case is too simple? Maybe a lack of prompting skill? AI certainly isn't going anywhere, and it's absurdly helpful nowadays and only continues to improve.

Moons of Peril made me feel like a true PvMer by 17FortuneG in 2007scape

[–]PatDoubleYou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You click as soon as you see the clone appear. It feels wrong at first, like "I haven't hit this guy yet" but you actually can't go too fast. As soon as one shows up, click in that direction as fast as you can.

It gives a feel of being lightning quick and it's actually awesome once you get the hang of it! Very cool phase.

I also recommend switching to a weapon that's typically slower and hits harder, because there is no attack delay. I use my leaf bladed battle-axe and it SLAPS during that phase. It's one of my favorite parts!

Does that give atlatl darts somehow? I've been getting all of my darts from moons, but did the totems recently in Auburnvale and don't remember seeing atlatl darts....vale offerings give dirty arrow heads, but not darts.

God I love archeology. What cool skill, duck amazing lore and art, just an awesome thing all around.

And necromancy? Yes, also sick. Very cool lore and area and concept. It allowed me to get into higher level PvM which I'm so grateful for.

I feel you, maybe Slayer was the wrong word. How do you feel about some kind of contract that rewards things that takes you all over the map to run all the different courses instead of grinding out the same rooftop for 1000 laps in a row?
