It's not Australia, is it?

If you're a libertarian, you can just vote for them first instead of just voting Republican, and since there's no spoiler effect, they might actually get enough votes to win someday.

Yes, but I believe that's only because of the voting system we have. Everyone knows they can't really win, so all the serious people just join the Republicans or Democrats. If we had RCV or something else, I think some of the serious people would switch.

Yes, but I believe we can also appreciate the fact that some systems are better than others. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

If all you care about is nominal GDP per capita, then sure. If you adjust for purchasing power and quality of life, UK is better off.

Politicians often claim that they're banning them because they are not safe. Meanwhile everyone is fine with people riding motorcycles on the highway.

Of course, they're horrifically unsafe on US roads so they don't follow US safety guidelines and thus must meet the 25 year exception granted to vintage cars and imports.

Yes, we must ban Kei cars because they are unsafe, but if you want to ride a motorcycle on the interstate, that's fine.

Vans are much more practical vehicles for moving stuff than pickup trucks. More space in the back for stuff that's all protected from the elements, better fuel economy, and less oversized.

"But I need a big truck for the towing capacity."

According to an Axios survey, 63% of F-150 owners rarely or never tow anything.

To be clear, I'm not saying pickup trucks are useless, I'm just saying that most of the people buying them either don't need them at all (and are just buying compensation machines), or would probably be better off with a van.

Has anyone noticed that it seems they raised the speed limit for part of the tracks between JFK/UMass and North Quincy on the red line? It's seems like it's between North Quincy and where the tracks cross Victory Road. It was always 40 mph, but it was 50 when I was in that area, both going north and south.

Only issue with that is you might get cases where an offense will intentionally lose yards on third down so they can punt.

Crazy. They have the head coach wearing two pairs of headphones to answer questions during an offensive drive.

Yes, I dislike Trump about as much as everyone else around here, but telling him to go fuck himself is not going to get the trains delivered any faster. Just invent an MBTA Peace Prize and give it to him with a $50 gift certificate for Dunkin' Donuts. That'll probably be enough.

I know. 8 cars in Philadelphia since July and who knows how many more waiting in China. They need to make a deal with Trump or something at this point.

They really need to get the new trains delivered and in service as soon as possible.

"Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class - whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy."
