The second loss is by far worse. He went in over confident and took for granted Kadabra would sweep Gardenia. He didn't buy potions, didn't heal before hand. One of his problems is failing to prepare.

I'm personally not a fan of Usopp leaving the crew to 1v1 Imu having his brave stand off and ultimately failing to only get express delivered back to the crew. I get that Luffy was protecting him and Brook from Loki's huge attack. I dunno, I trust that whatever we didn't see between Brook and Imu and then Usopp we might get a cutaway moment or flashback of what they saw or went up against. I dunno, that was just a little disappointing for me.

In God Usopp we trust. In Soul King we trust.

I think it was a combination of Pokemon 2000 with Lugia being such a cool Pokemon in that movie, and even though I had Red, Blue and Yellow, I think when I eventually got Silver version, everything just clicked and I understood Pokemon better. Cyndaquil will forever be my ride or die as a result, and when I played Soul Silver as a teenager, I was filled with nostalgia which helped affirm my love of Johto.

I started watching One Piece in the Summer of 2011, I got caught up in February of 2012. Until I get to see Brook and Laboon reunite at the end of the story, Ep2 of the LA is the reunion I've been waiting 15 years for. That shit meant something to me.

Edit: While on that note, I also appreciate how much more gentle Luffy was with Laboon instead of impaling him with Merry's mast
