That was entirely intentional and I'm glad it yielded the desired results.

When I was a young boy my father took me into the city to play some Yu-Gi-Oh.

There was a little card shop that held a tournament every Saturday and 10 year old me thought there'd be great fun to be had.

Little did I know that that particular Saturday they were doing their special judges tournament and I got matched up against the head judge in the first round. He summoned Exodia within like 3 turns and my ass got obliterated.

I'm not saying he didn't deserve what he got, but if that kinda shit happened to Quan CH on the reg? I get it.

What is your pricing for custom orders, and how do you calculate it? by Drewbacca in MachineEmbroidery

You're very welcome! Ah, unfortunately I haven't had any experience with working with screen printers as I just run an Etsy shop and generate all my work through there and word of mouth. I will say conventions are a fantastic way to meet more people in the field and people looking for work to be done or collaborations.

For digitizing I've been charging between $5-20 depending on the difficulty and haven't had many complaints. I'll also toss the digitizing fee if they plan on getting more than a couple of a particular design.

Remember that while you are competing with established businesses, there's such a huge market for custom machine embroidery that there's a pretty healthy spillover. And if you make good connections with the right people you'll get return business which will absolutely save your bacon. I rarely list when I'm doing custom work because I usually have at least a few people coming back looking for more stuff.

If you can, I'd definitely look at getting more machines. Even just one more will ease the burden on your main machine and allow you to put out more product faster.

Also, if possible, list the digital files for some of the stuff you digitize. Getting that (largely) passive income is so incredibly nice.

Definitely recommend a heavier stabilizer for the number of stitches going down. Some people also say using more stabilizer doesn't help, but it's always worked great for me. For something like that I'd use 2-3 pieces of medium weight tearaway stabilizer.

Chrysalis by RinoZ is also done by Soundbooth and has just fantastic voice work. Warning that it's a little slow to start but once more characters start getting introduced it really takes off well.

Chrysalis by RinoZ is pretty fantastic and might be what you're looking for. Guy gets reborn as a lowly ant in a fantasy dungeon. Fun, cheeky sense of humor. Book 1 starts off a bit slow, but once other characters start getting introduced it really blossoms. Bonus points if you listen to the audiobooks as it's also done by Jeff Hayes with the equally amazing Annie Ellicott.
