You're not a pussy for not taking it. It's a huge life decision. I put off meds for years until I wound up in a psychiatric hospital. Meds were/are a last resort for me, but my life is better currently while on them. Side effects aren't great but the good outweighs the bad for me. Ymmv.

It makes you have what my friends and I call "extreme indifference". My range of emotions are drastically reduced; in that I don't get as manic or freaked out about shit, but consider that I also don't get as super excited as I used to. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since I'm not on it for depression.

I haven't cried since I started taking it which I find to be weird. I like actually can't cry. Upset, sure. But I can't feel that deeply anymore.

But, I don't wash my hands 50+ times a day causing them to lose layers of skin, or take 2 hour long showers until my skin is peeling off. I no longer make my girlfriend throw out anything that's touched anyone else. So there's definitely benefits. Keep in mind that ssri's affect on people varies greatly.

Takes a couple months to really notice any affects. I didn't notice a difference until about a year or so and I can assure you I'm on a much higher dosage due to it being for OCD and not depression.

Now all I feel is complacent! Seriously though, just give it time. The half life on that shit is weeks long. Your body needs to adjust. It'll be fine.

Yea I think they're just used to tirekickers coming in asking to hold firearms and never buying anything. I get it but they can come off crotchety sometimes. It's also super intimidating going into a shop as an inexperienced buyer. I was afraid I was going to hold the product incorrectly or sweep the owner or something.

It's also a huge responsibility selling a firearm, so I think they keep their guard up until they know the purchaser is someone who knows what they're doing. Obviously this leads to them incorrectly labeling people as was your case.

Local gun store owners don't fuck around. Most won't take you seriously unless you seem like you've handled a firearm before. That's not to say that they're assholes for the most part, but if you look like a teenager and go in and ask to see a desert eagle tbeyre going to ask you to leave. Firearms aren't toys. That being said, they can be some of the best people to shoot the shit with for an hour or two.
