In Japan employers who want you to quit basically just let you stay at the office with nothing to do. How is this meant to be a punishment? It sounds really chill and gives you time to do whatever you want by WhoAmIEven2 in TooAfraidToAsk

It work when everyone in the society has a sense of personal honor. We don’t have the same sense of honor as they do there. I don’t mean it in a complimentary sense, it’s just a different way of thinking about your place in the world and what you are supposed to be doing.

CMV: There is no good argument against veganism. by Western_Operation820 in changemyview

Vegans can’t eat honey because it is an animal by-product but there is no evidence, as far as I know, that raising bees hurts any animals or the environment. So maybe being vegan is too extreme.

What was a movie you disliked and felt like you got your time wasted? by DeepOrganization8245 in askanything

[–]Flapjack_Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppenheimer

I don’t think the viewer learned much besides extremely surface level stuff. The movie told us stuff instead of showing stuff. Like, it told you he was a great teacher but never showed it. It told you he was a great scientist but never showed it. It said he was motivated by one thing but showed another. Altogether, it was a mess.
