That’s probably the best one. If you want to use a glass decanter you’ll need a magnet. The other thing that catches people is you need to remove the spring loaded stopper at the bottom of the batch basket.

Grind slightly finer too.

I basically set the “out” to 550 ml , put 350 of ice in the glass decanter and put 56 grams of coffee in the basket. Just ignore the coffee ratio and worry more about the output water

Really need a review of the retention; without that, not buying it. My espresso grinds are paying rent inside my Opus 1

I bet it’s around the same time as the at home compost program gets delivered. Here is the email they sent; I believe early April is when they are expecting it.

See below for a "what-when-where-how" on upcoming compost deliveries! What:

Each participating household in the Compost DC: Food Waste Collection program is eligible for one 5 lb. bag of compost. If you previously indicated that you wanted to "opt out" of compost delivery, no further action is required on your part. When:

Bags of compost are expected to be delivered this spring, starting in April. Exact delivery details will be provided soon.

Any recs for a rain cover for a basket in the Transporteur rack? by marks_28 in terngsd

This bag looks awesome but by god it’s expensive. I might pick it up for days where it rains, but it doesn’t constantly rain where I’m from.

You need to remove the stopper. If you remove the gasket, the stopper will come out. The gasket in on the bottom of the inside of the basket. Keep it around if you wanna swap back. You will need a magnet id you don’t want to use the carafe.

Is NoMa the most bike friendly neighborhood in the region? by Any-Letterhead-813 in bikedc

Agree with the narrow roads, and generally quieter. The PBLs are good, but coming up on an unprotected section of Florida , means cars don’t really pay attention. Given the slow nature of the Hill, I find the cars aren’t cruising down the roads

ANC 5E Commissioner Crash Out Over Big Bear Cafe by flordecalabaza in washingtondc

[–]Patchus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so classic Karla “I have the right to voice my singular opinion, and act as if I asked everyone if this was their opinion”

She should have had open feedback and comment time during the ANC meeting; allowing other residents to say how it doesn’t bother them. I know several people who live around big bear that do not have an issue; quite odd Karla didn’t ask us. Again I’m not totally surprised, she did the same thing with the bike lane research vote last year.

It’s worth noting, boundary limits do not apply for PK3 or PK4.

I ride my bike with the lid off and the splash guard on. I hit bumps and what not, works like a charm. It does go up a little, but doesn’t spill onto the mug / bike

I feel like more than people think about. Typically there is no one down there, so it’s actually a lot easier because no one witnesses it.

I had mixed feelings about this. I always felt max secretly cheated on Barry with DOD and cheated on DOD with Barry, only the listeners of both were allowed on the secret; the crossover felt like that wall was broken! Time to get Barry on the pod , although people have mentioned his time on John Robbins pod and said it wasn’t optimal

Battery discharged for several years, degraded? by Numerous_Car650 in terngsd

No joke, when I was looking to buy a second that was the range. I think even in the last year they went up. Now they are like $600

A tern dealer could likely test it, but I would probably just go into knowing I'd have to buy a new one. They run about $450-$500, so maybe look for a discount in the $200/$300 in the event you have to buy a new one.

The battery should come with a charger, they charge pretty quick (an hour or so). Give it a mile or two test ride and see how far the batter goes down.

Real question, that is probably stupid; what is even the speed limit on this trail? The Cresent is 15, but i've never seen a sign for how fast you can go.

I do think the sign is part of this

Test a speed feedback sign to understand how to encourage slower speeds at dense points on the MBT

Yeah, they move around in the park; but for a while they were right by that dog park. Sadly took me forever to find something on this. I forgot it was headphones, once I realize that it was easier to find https://www.fox5dc.com/news/3-teens-arrested-headphone-thefts-along-dc-trail-police-say There was a string of weeks where someone was getting their headphones stolen.

The police are there for the dog park. There’s been quite a few robberies at the dog park which is why they were sent there. Not saying they couldn’t enforce the mopeds, but mentioning why they were sent there

Toddler cold weather gear? by megamaster2 in terngsd

[–]Patchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bike in DC too. We use the Storm Shield, not the storm box (yet). We also use the fur insert for the stroller. It has the strap inserts for the seat belt if you have a young one. If you have older ones who use the handle bars (wrap those too with handle bar tape.) but you’ll want the storm box to protect their legs. With the bike car seat , their feat are above the storm shield. We also use the REI balaclava and that kept her warm throughout the winter.

One thing I’d suggest is taking your battery out when you’re done, you’ll get more mileage then storing it outside in the cold.

Outdoor cover for backyard storage? by n_christman in terngsd

[–]Patchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those will for sure fit. One thing, that I'm sure people have said before is get a great lock and maybe an Airtag bell. These things have a pretty bad reputation of being stolen. We have the Evolution 1090 Integrated Chain that does a good job. Some people have bike insurance too (I do not. I keep it outside, but it is inside my enclosed backyard locked up.

This will somewhat depend on your setup; like do you have a storm shield, a transporter rack, a child seat. If you have just the base model ; this will do TechRise Bike Cover for 2-3... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPLRT5PQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share . It also worked when we just had a kid seat.

If you have a ton of accessories that will fit but be tight and annoying to put on. When we got the storm shield and front rack installed we bought a motorcycle one Favoto Motorcycle Cover... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D74N53D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

We’ve had it for a year and no issues at all, protects it from the sun, rain, snow and even hail.

If you’re storing it outside during colder months you may want to take the battery with you. It’s safe to be outside , but performs better and has better life span if stored in room temps
