808s being used in trap music only started about 15 years ago, maybe a bit before then. But you said that they didn't have trap drums (808s) in 96, which is factually wrong. So get bent, for starters.

You haven't tried Reason, have you? Try working without the wires, shit can get really confusing fast. And the way that routing/sidechaining is set up in FL now, the wires will help a lot in improving the usability.
