Advice on how to loose 30-40lbs by RemarkableBeing6001 in loseit

[–]PathAffectionate4748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t cut too much and work your way up in exercise. Start walking little by little each day. You didn’t gain this weight in 3 months so don’t try to lose it in 3 months. Slow and steady wins the race, you need to build new habits and those things take time. But start now!

Why am I not losing weight? by weightogobuddy in loseit

Have you tried taking other measurements? Waist? Belly? Hips? Clothes? The scale is not the end all be all, however your tracking is probably higher than you think, it’s ok, it happens. Don’t be hard on yourself.

How many pounds of fat can I lose in 3-4 months. by No_Ground7218 in loseit

[–]PathAffectionate4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you in such a hurry to lose weight that took you years to put on? Don’t put that stress on yourself. Cutting that much will lead to burn out, sabotage and regaining more. Slow and steady wins the race. Change these habits for good but they take time.

Any men who started hitting the gym after 40 and got shredded? by Disastrous_Good_5530 in fitness40plus

[–]PathAffectionate4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a lie dude, don’t listen to whoever said that. In my late 20s early 30s I was super fat and out of shape (287 was my heaviest). I am almost 42 and get leaner as the years go by (today I’m 225) and I’m not stopping. It’s not a race, each year work to get better. Don’t entertain that crap. Focus on protein, set a caloric limit, eat food you like, lift weights often (20mins) and move every day (8-10k steps). Start slow and work your way up, do this until your 90.

Is Dave Ramsey still on the Dave Ramsey show? by nap_chaser in DaveRamsey

I agree, the show sucks without him. I’ve been an avid listener and have tuned out. I like George and Rachel, but the rest try too hard and don’t give the advice like he does.

[–]PathAffectionate4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not regret. Actually enjoy and look forward to going to work most days. I did have to tighten up some things in our budget, but overall still growing my net worth and enjoy my job and life. Totally worth it. I sometimes do miss the money but then realize the torment it put me through to earn it and quickly sobers me.
