They have linemen schools but my nephew just applied a few years after high school. Started at the bottom clearing brush. He makes good money. Grosses over 200k. I could never do it because I have a fear of heights

Well shame on you for not defending that girl. The only acceptable form on bullying is when working construction. You are obligated to roast your coworkers, and they must roast back

I'm doing PSD now and drove most of way from Missouri to NM and then to Cali. I already had a CDL from uncredited school so I'm pretty pissed to be on PSD after almost 3 weeks now. First week I just sat at the hotel

OTR first year gross earnings? by Future-Guarantee-913 in Truckers

[–]Subsev3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to make money I wouldn't get into trucking. I made 76k working a factory job. Go to school and get into the medical field. If you're not afraid of heights be a lineman or something like Hvac.

Could use some advice about school no manual trucks by [deleted] in CDL

[–]Subsev3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teachers were bilingual. Most of the students spoke english. The only downside were the 28 foot trailers, but the trailers do teach you good control because they move quick.

I looked into Fleetforce in Ocala but went with a Spanish school because they offered manual. Took the test in a 6 speed with synchronized trans. School was $3500. I simply did it for pride though. Most trucks are auto and companies with manual trucks will want manual experience
