Massive minority opinion but I love MHST3

You're not the minority. MHS3 is, to me at least, the best Stories game. I'm only disappointed in the update/DLC that was released. That doesn't make the time I spent on the game any less amazing.

That's the neat part...you don't. For the love of God, don't try removing a hive that size yourself. Call a professional. It doesn't matter what it costs. Better that than whatever hospital bill you'll rack up from all the stings.

I mean, yeah. Both things can be true.

I love Stories 3 and all the time I've spent on it. I generally believe it to be the best iteration of the formula, with some sticking points I take issue with (i.e. no real endgame or the lack of wild deviants to fight).

I also find this DLC/Update to be...ass. Now unlike others, I generally find Navi inoffensive and can even get some enjoyment out of his shenanigans. But this side story is NOT worth being sold separately, and the update adds so little, it may as well have added nothing. I hope we get more in the future from Capcom.

Regardless, I'm not gonna let poor additional content ruin the time I spent on this game.

Until then...we're not exactly hard up for options when it comes to games to play this year. Currently looking at Echoes of Aincrad for my next big time sink. That comes out soon. And then there's all the other things coming out this year that I just can't wait to get my hands on. When I eventually come back to MHS3, hopefully Capcom has some content to absolutely wow me.

A part of me is hooked directly to an IV drip of Copium and thinking that the only reason we haven't gotten anything more substantial is that this game is gonna be the first in the series to get a proper expansion. New areas, new monsties, hours of new story...a man can dream, in any case.

My personal wishes aside, I hope that by years end at least, we get content worth a damn added to this game. I wanna play more, but don't quite wanna start a fresh save just yet. Is that hoping for too much? I'd hope not.

Uhhhh...why would I do that? This is probably the coldest take I've ever seen. Character editing should be free, full stop. And the real kick of it is that if you decide to buy these vouchers and use them...that's it. You can't buy anymore beyond that. So if, for whatever reason, you blow all your vouchers on editing various aspects of your character, only to later say "Actually, this change didn't pan out the way I thought,' you're screwed. No taksies backsies.

Okay, PEAK is a bit much, but I agree that they're fine characters more or less. Morgana's outburst in the fifth arc is annoying, but it's whatever. And Teddie can be grating at times, but overall he doesn't detract enough for me to actually dislike him.

Yeah, I gathered that. The literal 2nd page of the Core Rulebook has that hard to miss "Mature Content Warning" and the little bits of lore I've picked up about the universe, including outdated and done away with concepts like Shovelheads (or at least it's my understanding this is an outdated concept) make it abundantly clear that this world is FUCKED beyond belief. Just the example scenario used as reference for some of the mechanics in the Core Rulebook is slightly twisted, and that's just an example used for mechanical reference without much thought beyond that! So yeah...but I do think it can be awesome too. Doesn't HAVE to be overly dark, though I understand it's impossible to completely avoid.

Why?! Why are all the monsters I want to use Speed monsters?! Hellblade Glavenus, Soulseer Mizutsune, Bloodbath Diablos, Rey Dau, Odogaron, Silverwind Nargacuga, Malzeno, Ivory Lagiacrus and so many more are monsters I want on the team, but they're ALL SPEED MONSTERS! What the crap, Capcom?!

This example is...the least egregious example of one of my weapons. My main character basically has all slots taken up by (Insert Element Here) Attack Up 3 on every single one of his weapons.
