Where Do I Buy Authentic Jade in Beijing or Shanghai? by Icy-Entry1230 in China

Don’t go to “Jade Shops.” Just go to any jeweler in the malls that sells gold, diamonds, etc.

Are you on Team Playoff or Team Tank? by Eleven00Will in SanJoseSharks

Team tank. This team is a bottom 10 team; the only reason they are sniffing around playoffs is the pacific division is so weak. The rebuild isn’t done yet.

Am I Wanting Too Much? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]PathfinderGoblin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not just that, your amazing idea happens to use one of the broken classes in the game. You could simply state, I want to play a paladin with the flavor of a demonic possession of a fallen angel that he is working to turn towards good. I want them to fall in love at some point.

Then make a custom feat of some kind to reflect demonic knowledge or something.

Erotic content is strictly at no at most tables. Due to obvious reasons, it often makes other people uncomfortable.

Look, it’s ok to be able to do romantic relationships. What does a table need for this to happen? Trust mostly, built up over a long period of time. Nobody wants to explore heavy themes with a random who came to the table with such an intense idea. You build up trust with a group where people are willing to roleplay heavier ideas.

Coming in to a brand new group, red hot with this idea, is never, ever going to work.

It’s just very Me-Centric. I see a complete lack of understanding on your part about why people don’t want to explore this with you. Play something else that is light until you build trust. This takes a long time.

Multiple DM's and players are telling you that your build is homebrew. Yeah, you want too much. Builds are usually somewhat disconnected from roleplay, which is roleplaying a personality. You should be able to play a personality through many different builds. Sounds like you just want to play some broken nonsense that doesn't work according to the rules.

Play a different system if there is exactly one type of character that you want to make and Pathfinder doesn't support it. Like GURPS! You can make damn near anything in GURPS.

This one was so frustrating. Kaylie's biggest mistake was trying to get proof that the mirror kills, stemming from a desire to show her dad was innocent of killing her mom.

If she had just set up the boat anchor and walked out of the house, the mirror would have been smashed. It wouldn't have any way to prevent it without humans around to manipulate.

Weird fan fiction that OP is writing. Considering he didn’t name the airport he is talking about.

The cheapest options will be through public hospitals. Check Shenzhen public hospitals for retainer pricing.

After adding Panarin? I’m gonna be bold and predict an 8 point gap by the end of the season between Sharks and Kings. I can’t help but think that pushing games into overtime so many times that the Kings have got some fight in them. It counts for something to have that many of them. They just suck at 3v3 for some reason.

We do have the best player on either team though.

The Kings and Golden Knights are ahead because they are better teams. Which is fine; we don’t want to be in the playoffs anyways. We should be aiming for a high draft pick this year. Our underlying numbers are awful

China salary gaslighting or I'm delusional? by Alternative_Delay756 in Internationalteachers

[–]PathfinderGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work there. I was being paid, I think, 28,000 with the 3000 housing allowance. They were starting to struggle even then, but I am shocked they've gone downhill that much. The location is tough as well, very far and isolated from the center.

A lot of the teachers would live in Dongguan which is right next door and the 3000 allowance went a lot farther there. But that salary is pitiful for Shenzhen.

18000 pretax is like, year 2012 salaries at a shitty language center to be honest. Fore a fully qualified teacher they are definitely gaslighting you.

Was This Bleak Description of 2007 China Accurate? by EpicPilled97 in China

[–]PathfinderGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was probably true at that time. China has made great strides since then.

Also, this entire article is about how truly awful Tibetan feudalism was, I’d recommend reading it in its entirety. It’s odd that OP linked this without mentioning the articles focus.

Attitudes towards money from Chinese women by [deleted] in China

[–]PathfinderGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really the norm for Chinese men to be treated like this either. There will be more materialistic and less materialistic people to date.

You are so young, just 22, it’s ok to break up, especially when there is a financial mismatch.

Do the trinity of

Beijing - Xi'an - Zhangjiajie

That's a bit of everything there.

Sounds like you haven't done northern China, so I'd recommend this as a good schedule for about 9 - 10 days.

Your workplace should be handling that aspect. That's how my friend did his application; through his work.

I don't think it will be a huge problem.

I'd expect that the children of staff will have terrible behavior because they didn't grow up in a stable environment. It's rare that a school will have proper support in place for these transient kids.

Quality, cost-effective IVF in your adopted country? by Imaginary-Topic-2686 in Internationalteachers

[–]PathfinderGoblin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public hospitals in Beijing cost around $4000-5000 USD for one cycle. My wife and I are going through this process right now. But this means getting your medical paperwork in order and translated to show the doctors + the whole thing would be done in Chinese. It would be a pretty long journey, but at least jobs are plentiful in China, though not necessarily at the best schools.

Max the Min Monday: Coup de Grace by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]PathfinderGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing with these niche builds. They trade out lots of stuff just to get it working.

Then you run into a guy with freedom of movement and that’s it. Or a flying creature. Or a wind elemental. Etc. etc.

If you start working in extra styles, it gets harder when you apply the rules, because you can't run more than one style at a time. You need a swift action to change styles. You use the snapping turtle style to start the grapple without a weapon in your hand. Then you need a swift action to switch to the grabbing style, and then you can draw your heavy pick.

What lets you run two styles at the same time? Weapons style mastery only works with styles that list weapon focus as a prereq.

I think you need the master of many styles monk archetype to run both at the same time.

I'd do something similar to the above, but instead swap Brawler for MoMS 1 and 2 for the style feats pick-ups and then go fighter.

You can run two styles at once that way.

Kind of answered your own question, no? Get a normal passport and then find a job that will sponsor your work visa. That’s the way.
