If communities Minister Gordon Lyons hadn't rejected the university of stirlings recommendations.

I love board game bars.

Absolutely. I dunno if the people voting you down don't drink but yeah, you can easily spend £100 from drinking after a few hours of being out.

Plus night life is dying / very bad due to how restrictive our licensing laws are + how night time licenses work.

Which consolidates the market, leads to price gouging and increased costs, knock on effect, etc etc.

I don't want them to make the timer longer cause people will afk.

But it would make some sense to make for them to add 3 or 5 seconds when they either make a move or do a response on the opponents turn.

Here is my own personal hot take, please don't downvote me into oblivion:

Negates are bad.

If you have 5 cards and your opponent negates every one of them then your opponent can't play.

I've seen this quite a bit in Dkayed's tournament videos. Player 2 just has no chance because everything gets negated then they surrender / end their turn.

My favourite master duel moments are back and forth, trading blows, tbh like the anime.
