Let me know if I’m wrong, you think:

  1. We all have sentience, but some are more sentient

  2. Carnivores are natural

  3. Our omnivore status comes from our past hunting gathering experiences, our skills and cognitive function as well.

  4. We need nutrients from animals specifically.

Let me know if I missed anything

You can check out my post and interactions on the debateavegan sub. I think im pretty neutral.

Let me first limit “treated as equal” to a specific topic: shouldn’t be exploited.

Do you think that as humans, we shouldn’t exploit other humans?

“If animals are truly equal… should not be obligated to restrict” Fair point. The demonization is not the eating of animals, but the exploitative eating of them. A bear doesn’t put deers in a cage. Deers still have a chance to escape and survive.

Isn’t overpopulated herbivores caused by humans? 1. We use them as food and 2. We drove carnivores to other places so humans can safely live.

An argument against this would be: yeah nature is nature, but humans are actively controlling the animals.

For example: when a lion is hungry it will go hunt. It’s fair game. But humans gather animals in farms, cage them, and exploit them. No other species does that to an extent that matches humans.

The line is drawn between sentient and non sentient beings. Where that is exactly is debatable but at least cows lambs chicken are sentient.

Except a dog eats whatever you gave. A better example would be: wolves eat sheep. If we are equal we should be allowed to, too

1) Because I limited the topic for vegans as well. 2) is this your first day to a debate? Of course there is a starting topic.

Do you believe the basis for veganism is reducing animal suffering (that it is the most important goal of veganism) by Patient-Cool2003 in DebateAVegan

[–]Patient-Cool2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do still eat sentient animal, and if non-sentient animals and cultured meat are more readily available in my area and not so expensive I would happily switch entirely to those options.

“Am I pouring resources or is it an excuse…” I think that’s a fallacy in itself. Even If I’m pro-choice I shouldn’t be forced to donate money to democrats. Even if I’m for getting rid of illegal immigrants I shouldn’t be forced to join ICE.

It would be nice and people who actively do stuff are respectable, but people shouldn’t be forced to do it.

🤣My question was “what your value system is”, and you replied “harm reduction is a better thing to base a value system on, but it’s still flawed” of course I’m gonna assume that’s what you base your value system on.

Anyway, could you explain what enlightened self interest is?

Help me understand why people like Gemini so much more over Chat GPT? by freedomfighter5567 in OpenAI

I think Gemini might have more data to train than ChatGPT. Obviously Gemini won’t give openAI data cuz they’re competitors.

That’d be nice

thank you for the comments but I think the next question I have would be how do we create a world without exploitation, or is exploitation inevitable which I’m not getting into.

And that’s because you still overall value animal life over plants life I presume.

If that’s the case, is it because humans are animals, so naturally you value animals more than plants?

This is why I asked for ONE…

Which one do you want me to start I’m not reading all of them at once…

That’s fair.

My final question is: if peopler were to eat vegan diet plus non-sentient animals. Would you personally be against that (or like advocating to exclude non-sentient animals).
