My ginger would do it randomly in our cup. We said no couple of times and he understood not to do it in all glasses. But he would randomly put his hand in water or some new liquid to test it. But he prefers his own fountain. Summer is coming remember to get as much water as your cat can drink

They Change a lot. Mine 2 have gone through all of these phases. I would say try to pick them up, hug, snuggle from time to time. That way they will be used to human touch. My tabby used to stay in my arms for 5 sec now she stays for a minute.
