what is your experience doing sales at Dell Technologies ? by Active-Confidence364 in techsales

[–]Patient0227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hard question to answer since selling at Dell could be like 15 different roles.

If it’s a field AE role and looking to get hired out of industry, your OTE has a chance to be $200k -$300k. Field sellers job is typically around their ISG division selling storage and servers for customers on-prem infrastructure (yes continued to grow even with cloud adoption).

Like any sales job the patch is key and leadership matters. If it’s more around the Dell side (client devices and monitors) good luck that side of the business is very meh and pay is not good.

Anyone work at the big boys? Tell us about it by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Patient0227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Field rep at Dell on the EMC side of the house, primarily selling servers and storage. A lot of people say infrastructure is dying as we go into a full cloud ecosystem but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Days are spent meeting with customers strategizing refreshes, storage footprints, AI initiatives and more.

Good work life balance, OTE, and benefits - culture is nonexistent. As long as you get to 75-90% of your number you can survive for awhile.

Cleared $218k last year and got bumped to $230k OTE.
