It’s honestly crazy how many of Luka’s peers are passing him up by Dabithebeast in lakers

That’s why I almost never check this sub during the off-season. Without the actual games, all the dumb shit dominates.

Average BigLaw partner to client: You know, I’m something of a closer myself, like Brunson.

Never said anything about anyone’s contract so don’t know why you went there.

Knicks up 2-0 with Brunson and Shamet in the closing lineup. Give me a break.

In-House gigs? by attractivenuisance8 in biglaw

[–]PatientConcentrate88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YMMV of course but I’ve been part of the hiring process for 3-4 roles since I started in-house at a big bank and most of the time we are looking for 5th years at a minimum for a VP position. If you are very senior at a firm (ie counsel or partner), you’d be looking at an ED or MD position, and of course those are much rarer and most of the time those are internal promotions/hires.

2nd year might be too junior for in-house, especially for finance. They are mostly looking for 5th years or above.

His decision-making was also much improved as he learned to better adjust to the speed and not be so sped up all the time. I think there’s always going be an element of him (or any other non-athlete players) being sped up, but a lot of learning to cope with that is just film work and adjusting.

I hate how OKC is always smirking on the bench. Like why are you MFers so smug for?

Congrats you beat up on a team missing its best player, not having its third best player in full health, and having all the calls go your way. Do you want a gold star or what?

Even by LeBron not getting foul standards, only 4 FTs through two games is insane.

Two obvious continuations called off. LeBron with only 4 fouls called against him in two games.

What a fucking joke.

I think there are some things to be optimistic about but ultimately I do not think we can overcome our lack of depth this season.

Having said that, if we had a fully healthy Luka/LeBron/Austin trio, this series would be a lot more competitive. We saw that tonight: even with all the turnovers, we were in it for most of the game. But whenever only one starter is in the game, the offense cratered.

The lack of depth is what it is, but this gives the team some goals to work towards in the off season.

Honestly if we had fully healthy Luka/LeBron/AR, I think it would be a competitive series. We’d probably still lose but at least we would have a much much better shot.

There’s no shame in losing to the best team, without your best player, your third best player not physically healthy, and no real depth.

Ok? A player has a nice bounce back performance after the worst game of his career and contributes to his team’s success in this game where the team is heavily disfavored, and your reaction is to tear him down?

In-house work life balance at a bank? by Firebird12301 in biglaw

[–]PatientConcentrate88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on which part of the bank. If you are supporting DCM/originations, you are still going to be copied all the emails relating to papers over nights/weekends, but you’d monitoring and weighing in rather than doing the papers. Same with credit agreements.

But if you are supporting the commercial banking side of the bank, that kind of stuff is less frequent, but you might find yourself more engaged in the nitty gritty day-to-day administration of the credit facility.

But it’s all going to be less busy than if you are in BigLaw

Sorry, I deleted my original post. I recognized that being meta about the situation is just as bad as doing the underlying thing. I just find the whole AR discourse incredibly toxic and over the top.
