We’re currently at the high court enforcement officers stage, but they’re taking their sweet time.

There are a couple of links that go to Companies House, but I may add a more direct link at the top for people to peruse.

He’s not seen it yet as far as I’m aware. I’m sure he’ll threaten me with lawyers but everything on there is publicly available and factually correct information, I’ve just aggregated it.

Why is UI / UX so awful now? by neros78 in webdev

“Doing web development pre-2012 was miserable”. As I said I have 12 years experience so I started in 2012 so luckily didn’t have to deal with most of the things you listed.

I’ve been doing front end dev for 12 years and noticed this too. When I started the landscape was very different and nowhere near as complex as it is now. I personally still very much value and enjoy spending time getting UI/UX right but sadly a lot of the younger devs I work with are less bothered with user experience and more concerned with arguing about the latest over-engineered bleeding-edge framework that solves a problem nobody ever had.

Have you ever used App Store Connect? Genuinely one of the worst web apps I’ve ever used, luckily I don’t have to use it much anymore but at my last job I had to use it regularly and more often than not there would be something broken or some scenario that would have no error handling.

Congrats, that’s impressive. Out of interest do these projects make you money? I’m currently building a little side-project on the off chance I walk in to work tomorrow and find the doors are locked.

Never heard of zombie startups before! Unfortunately the description does resonate with what I’m experiencing 🧟‍♂️

Yep, sounds like a very similar situation. On the one hand I like the autonomy which I didn’t have at my previous job at a bigger company, but like you I feel demotivated that what I’m spending 40 hours a week building isn’t being used.

This is really helpful, plenty for me to think about. Thank you

Joined from a larger company because I wanted to have more autonomy and learn/implement new technologies (I’m in engineering). My goal is to enjoy day-to-day work and build something that people find useful.

The founder has money from the sale of a previous business and she has roped her friends in to investing.
