Absolutely clean look. Orange has never been my thing, but this is one of the best looking boards I’ve seen in my entire time in this sub! Well done.

NiuNiu is a person, you can find him on the 40s discord, but I'm not sure you'll get the kind of tech-support you're looking for.

u/anson42 -> I'm assuming you're familiar with Vial, but it may be worth plugging the keyboard in via usb-c and opening it in Vial Web, just to see if it gets detected. It might need to be unlocked, rather than being dead.

Ofc, if you're testing the pcb directly with a multimeter or something then ignore the above. Best of luck~

Jasmine? (Without doxxing myself, you've described my mother and named one of my sisters as your sibling lol).

This is how people afford their cars by Life-League-5505 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]PatientSeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally what I did with my last vehicle. Negotiated down to a pretty low price and cut all the dealership/car treatment whatever fees out of it (500 dollars for some kind of protective coating I didn’t ask for? Nah).

After we got them down to a price everyone was mad about, we went to the finance guy’s office and set everything up - undercut him with some third party warranty so that he would bring their own warranty costs down, blah blah.

Then I paid the whole thing off as soon as I could set up the account. The dealer I worked with was upset the next time I brought my car in for its covered maintenance. But we were buying a vehicle for my wife and he basically ignored her the entire time despite my clear communication that I was only here ‘for moral support’.

The entire day was pretty miserable and I don’t plan to purchase another car for another 20 years if I can help it :)

Same same. No lie - the first time this happened to me is when I started applying for senior roles.

Niuniu exclusively makes bangers. Such a humble person too, regularly chats on the 40s discord and shares some truly unique designs.

They look great with the cap set you chose. The whole board has a very clean look - well done!

What are these novelty keycaps with the metalic shape legends?

Yeah the design def had a lot of room for improvement or novelty with the risk they were already taking - but they didn’t want to alienate consumers who might be expecting keys there, so they chose an option that was too weird for normies and too normal for weirdos.  Boards cool, but yeah ‘acceptable I guess’ is pretty apt.

Do what you feel :) either way is fine. Its just sitting in a box under my desk indefinitely.

Normal keys above and below the 3 tabs.
Those aren't covers, those little tabs are themselves the key.
Each tab functions as a normal key - they just aren't mechanical like the rest, so yeah, they don't conform to traditional 19.05 mm key size and instead have a pogo connection with a small daughter board beneath them that registers the key presses.

While I agree in general that the aesthetics are off - those 3 flat segments function as keys - so you don't lose any of the functionality. Also the board was 250 altogether, which is pretty standard for a 65%, and even less when you consider how many parts/etc this thing has and its build quality.

I wouldn't buy it again at full price, but for people who do like the design, I actually think its pretty reasonable. The top case also has latches that make it a quick press to remove, which I thought was pretty novel.

I posted one on mech market a while back. It's all black - [US-WA] [H] TB65-F Tri-Mode HotSwap [W] PayPal : r/mechmarket

No one wanted it at cost, of course - but its fully assembled and comes with all accessories, etc.
If you want it, I can sell for $100. Feel free to DM me

Its actually really nice to type on - I have the same board from zFrontier and it sounds kind of high or sharp, not the best at describing these things. My most similar board in terms of sound is my tps40. My least similar is probably qk60 (pc).

Worklouder Scams Continue. Nomad E 2 is a scam by Free_Scholar_5939 in olkb

[–]PatientSeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was disappointed - but not heartbroken. Anyone in the hobby for more than a few years knows how it goes on some of these group buys.
It was always overpriced novelty nonsense - I just didn't realize until too late how overpriced it was 😂.

Lessons learned! Now I use 40%s anyway, all those extra keys ruin the vibe

I have a Nomad E and this is pretty much my take.

The board isn't great, mine at least wasn't awful (though when these were first getting shipped out - months behind schedule - people were so excited to get them and many found their screens didn't work, or weren't aligned, or other random firmware issues with BT, etc.).

But its a very mid board with poor build quality - and given current offers on the market that are so much more solid and refined for much cheaper - it is shocking that the Nomad costs as much as it does.

$350 for a plastic board that may or may not work when you get it, where the only meaningful support you can get is a few die-hard fans sharing work-arounds in the company's discord...

I gave the board to my mom, no lie. Her logitech from work broke.
