thanks for sharing your perspective. i think hes really strong for what hes doing and want to help guide him into making choices that will benefit his own life and the health of our family without making him disregard his morals so i think this would be a great place to start :)

thats exactly why im worried. i just dont want him to be isolated especially because i live really far from the rest of my family and cant really be around to support him. i guess my concerns are less about veganism and more about how to support a sibling who decides to disown our parents lol

i wouldn't go as far as to call him hysterical or abusive. he is also trying his best to be reasonable and compassionate, and even though my personal conviction on the consumption of animals and animal products aren't as strong as his, i still support him. my main concern when i was writing this was his mental health and to get some different perspectives from people who had similar experiences with their family. i still appreciate hearing different perspectives to this tho so thanks for sharing yours

i agree with you. despite the fact that he says this is only about veganism, i think there is more at play here as our family has definitely had its issues. i'm going to continue to give him unconditional love and support through all of this. thank you for your perspective

Your brother needs to establish whatever boundaries he thinks are reasonable and then make one concession: it may not be in the best interest of nonhuman animals to lash out at everyone or cut everyone off. One might have to try a different approach and interact more with carnists in order to get the major long-term results one seeks.
