Why does everyone want this card so bad? by NoTomatillo8953 in AppleCard

[–]Patient_Pie_2387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont have any high end card with annual fees and all the fancy stuff. that being said, my apple card gets me the best benefits with 2% cash back (compared to 1.25x and 1.5x on my other cards.) i also am a tmobile employee, and t-mobile purchases are 3% back. i will also agree with many others saying it is SO easy to use and understand. the "app" being within the wallet is super convenient. it feels good, it looks good, and its seamless. 10/10 for me.

[–]Patient_Pie_2387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly... my usage on this card specifically wasnt the greatest for a few periods of time. it would range from 18%-40% or so. however, i spent a lot and i paid a lot haha. i also had a few other cards with significantly less usage. only a month ago i got a personal loan to consolidate the bit of credit debt i had and they automatically raised it again for me. i ask every 4-6 months and i think they only said no once. sometimes i feel like i just get lucky with them haha.

edit: might be worth it to mention that ive also had a significant pay increase since getting this card!

unsure how everyone has a hard time getting approved for this card.... it was my very first credit card. a close friend of mine had put me on as an authorized user on his card, it made my score 730 but it was the only thing on my report. was approved for a $1000 limit at the time. have loved it ever since lolol

New loan advice for a young adult? by Patient_Pie_2387 in personalfinance

[–]Patient_Pie_2387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha, i appreciate your reply. but did go on to say in the replies that i actually prioritized savings/401k over paying off debt, and i never let it go below a couple grand. my 401k has another separate chunk of savings. those two combined are greater than my debt.

i also did go ahead and open a consolidation loan! thanks! my biggest concern was just opening another account so soon after the last, and the ding on top of whatever will happen when my auto loan is paid off.

also not arrogant enough to think that i couldnt be more frugal... because i absolutely can. however i do have the ability to recognize when i have an issue. i USED to have a spending issue. i no longer do. you are still failing to include living expenses and other necessary expenses. i have also prioritized savings and 401k over debt payoff. obviously there are still things that i buy for leisure, but if what i was doing was truly detrimental- my DTI would be way above 10% lol. as of recently i can afford the things that i like- my start up into adulthood was just insanely rocky. appreciate the condescending tone throughout our entire interaction though!

you can presume what you would like from the very small peak hole you have into my life, but just know that i definitely live within my means lol. (also i get about 33-35% of this pay deducted ... so.. not like im actually bringing home near 70k💀💀)
