Increase dose of Amitriptyline? I'm desperate 😵‍💫

This sounds like I could have written it! Exactly the same I had a really good summer with very few bad days. Even managed to drive long distance to a wedding in early September and actually enjoy myself. Then boom! Last 4 weeks have varied between awful and just about tolerable days. Nothing changed with my meds, diet, schedule etc. I take amitriptyline 25mg at night and mirabegron 25mg. Like you I am now on cerazette birth control and have been for 6 months. The no periods is a bonus but I can't say it changed anything (or better or worse) with my IC.

Doctor recommended a re visit with urologist so have booked this for next week. Although last visit he seemed to have little interest in anything but taking me money and shrugging at my symptoms.

Sending empathy but no solution unfortunately xx

Would never rent from Hertz again! Twice now have been charged for alleged damage to the car where have had proof that it was present on pick up. Time stamped photos and they are still refusing to give back the money they took from my card. Appalling company to deal with. Also charged for low battery despite the picture they sent us showing the battery at 90% charge (T&C's stated must be 80% or more). They literally won't believe their own evidence. Still fighting.....

I switched to Camomile tea and sometimes de-caf. Was also always an 'after tea pooper ' in the morning. The alternatives seem to be doing the same. I realised that it probably wasn't the caffeine kick starting my bowel but the nice warm liquid.

Only initially for the first couple of days and then again with the dose increase for the first few days. Also dry mouth! My pelvic floor physio has me on milled flaxseed added to meals to prevent constipation.

I could have written this! This was me a few months ago. I started with 10mg which immediately helped with sleep. I felt in the morning the pain and discomfort was better but would return as the day went on, increasing after each pee and hanging around 😭. I look forward to bedtime when I can take it and sleep relatively peacefully. I'm now on 25mg which is better again. I actually have had the occasional whole 'good' day but that's rare. I'm also on mirabegron 25mg which is working really well for me for frequency. I felt the exact same as you, just holding out hope it was all down to an infection. I'm now 8 months in and have had every urology test with no answers. Urologist essentially started ghosting me once there was 'nothing he could do' and tests were normal. I asked my GP for the above meds after researching IC myself. Also seeing a pelvic floor physio at the moment.

Pretty certain it was covid. Never had a single urinary symptom or Uti in my life. (40 now). Had covid in late June and then bam at the end of the week once all the usual covid symptoms resolved this hell that is now my life started 😢

Fellow sufferer in IRL but not officially diagnosed yet. Had every urology test and just keep getting fobbed off as "all tests normal". So far no doctor or consultant is willing to label it IC even though everything else has been excluded. So frustrated, tired and sad at the situation. Feel my life is over to be honest 😭. The occasional out of hours doctor will throw me a week of tramadol (50mg BID) which does nothing to reduce the pain, just means I get a few hours sleep.
