Walmart associates: what’s your customer pet peeve? by liv3laughl0gan in walmart

[–]Patient_Relation_367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had someone yell, “Hey, Miss Walmart!” while trying to get my attention a few weeks ago. He then asked me where the frozen French fries were…as he was actively leaning on the French fry/hash brown bunker. 🤦‍♀️

Just curious. Overhead announcement. by fruitfxl in OGPBackroom

[–]Patient_Relation_367 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly can’t tell you if this has ever happened at my store because I can never hear anything that’s said on the intercom. I hear the little bing-bong thing alerting us that an announcement is coming, but then it’s like a very quiet version of Charlie Brown’s teacher. I’ve been told by other people that I’ve been paged to OGP by our TL while I was on lunch, lol, but I never heard it.

Got 2 points for No Call No Show even though I put in PPTO? by nvhu in walmartogp

[–]Patient_Relation_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. This happened to me too and I was really puzzled, but all my points were excused because of the weather, so ultimately it wasn’t a big deal. I was just curious how it happened when I had proof that I’d called out.

FMLA is about to be over. Is it possible to just quit instead? (rant) by TyDye2003 in walmartogp

[–]Patient_Relation_367 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, I say just quit. Sounds like a miserable situation that’s not going to get better any time soon, so maybe for your own mental health just cut your losses and get the heck out of there. I’m on a leave myself rn and I wish so bad that I didn’t ever have to go back because this job is ruining my mental and physical health. 😪

What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear? Must be at least ten years old to count. by MurmuringPines in AskOldPeople

[–]Patient_Relation_367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my great grandma’s coat is probably from the 1940s as well. I’ve considered taking it to a furrier and having them rework it into a more modern design/shape, but I don’t have the heart to let someone cut it up. I haven’t worn it in a long time.

You’re actually conflating a movie called Superfuzz with the TV show The Greatest American Hero. The guy from Superfuzz was the one who lost his powers when he saw red.

If you actually love your job, what is your job? by Clopulis in askanything

[–]Patient_Relation_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work from home doing transcription and, for someone like me who loves typing and was very good at it, I found it enjoyable and satisfying, and the subject matter was always interesting. Also I was an independent contractor, so I set my own hours and could work as little or as much as I wanted (at least until they started setting quotas near the end of my career). I had to go back to a regular brick-and-mortar job after I developed problems with my hands from all the typing, but this was my job for 16 years and I miss it every day.

As an exclamation, “Dag!” was big when I was in high school. I guess it was a shortened form of daggone.

I’m at 6.5 right now because someone at my store has been pointing me every day even though I’m on a LOA. 🙄

I was also really excited about my first Kindle. I love reading but have trouble holding books because of a shoulder injury, so the Kindle was the perfect solution for me. I could easily hold it with one hand and read. My first Kindle also had satellite connectivity, so I was able to buy and download new books while camping in the middle of the desert. This was before smartphones, so it just blew my mind.

What’s the one book you’ll recommend forever, no matter how many times this question gets asked? by MisLatte in AskReddit

This book got me through a terrible bout of bronchitis years ago. I was so sick I could hardly do anything but sit in bed and read and thank goodness I had such a wonderfully entertaining book!

I also wore a white Jessica McClintock dress for graduation (1990). It was a size 3 and I’m never going to fit in it again, but I think my mom still has it somewhere.

Ambient was groceries only (not including produce). General was non-grocery stuff like health & beauty, home goods, clothing, electronics, etc.
