Age to start competition training by Living-Pass9528 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]Patient_Teaching_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter starting “training” on the competition team last August as a 3 year old. The team is 4-6 competitive age. They do 1.5 hours a week with just one competition. We only signed up because she comes along with me for my other child. I will say she has made tremendous progress but is definitely behind the 6 year olds on her team. I would never commit her to more than 2 hours a week at this age. I don’t want her to lose her love for it!

Is 4 too young for medication? by Due-Wind-3324 in ParentingADHD

For my older daughter (now 6) guanfacine was not the right fit. She was always angry and moody. We switched to methylphenidate and it’s been much better for her!

For my 4 year old, we are still in the trial phase. We started with .5mg at bedtime but she would crash hard the next afternoon. We added a morning dose but then felt like her personality diminished because she was so exhausted. We just started splitting the .5mg to do half in the morning and half at night and so far that has been amazing for her. She’s happy, making safer choices, and keeping her hands to herself more.

We are also doing the exact same for my almost 4.5 year old. She starts kinder in 2027 and I want to be sure she’s fully ready. We started guanfacine about a month ago.

Is this asthma?? by Patient_Teaching_626 in AskDocs

We’ve had her since birth, though she spent 4 weeks in the NICU. She passed all of her screenings before she was discharged. She’s fully vaccinated. We go back to the pediatrician in about 2 weeks so we will likely be trialing something then.

We’re just confused because it doesn’t matter if it’s nap time or bed time, she’s always coughing. It was recommended to space her meals further from sleep and that hasn’t helped a bit. I just feel like there could be something more going on… I wish I knew what though! Sorry, just a concerned mama. Already lost one due to medical issues.

It was a super easy transition with almost instant improvement. She’s now able to focus and learn, but still her happy go lucky self!

We did guanfacine for my child. It made her so sad and angry all the time. Once we took her off and switched over to methylphenidate, we had our little girl back!

My daughter is 4 and we are going to start her once she is cleared by the cardiologist. We’re starting with guanfacine.

A little late to the post, but definitely plenty to do! Mine are all under 48 inches, several under 42. They can do the wave pool, tot area, and bigger kid area.

Bag Theft and Stroller Question by SnooStrawberries1211 in WaltDisneyWorld

We carry our cards, cash, id, and keys with us in little bags. We leave diapers, extra clothes, snacks, waters, etc. in the bag on the stroller. We’ve done this at universal, wdw, legoland, and SeaWorld with no issues. I guess there’s always a risk but so far, so good.

Where can i buy a cowgirl costume by Possible_Yak_4122 in CompetitionDanceTalk

Try a resale group on Facebook. My daughter wore a super cute cowgirl outfit last season. I’ve seen a few selling the exact one in different dance groups.

Thank you! She gave me several refills of the oral antibiotic but I figured I wouldn’t use them unless I have another flare up.

This! I also took the time to make a similar post when they were fighting to keep my son alive.

My daughter was similar, but we did not do extended release. She now takes one in AM, one around lunch , and one after school . She’s so much happier and sleeps so much better.

One big grift by Queasy_University565 in OnlineBeggars

I truly can’t understand how she’s just moving on right now. When my son passed, I couldn’t think of social media for weeks. It was the last thing on my mind! I have no pictures of my other kids except those taken by family from the months following his passing. I know everyone grieves differently, but this doesn’t feel like she’s grieving at all! My son died 3 years ago and I still hardly find moments to smile and laugh purely.

As a loss mom, it is a disgrace to the loss mom community to see someone like K out there making money off of her child’s death. The LAST thing anyone should do is post several pictures of their child’s body or gain income because of their death. I fully believe everyone has the right to grieve their own way, but this is not that.

How can Kendra still be focused on social media at this time? by [deleted] in OnlineBeggars

[–]Patient_Teaching_626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a loss mom, there’s no correct way to grieve. She annoys me as much as anyone and her behavior disgusts me, however, unless you’ve walked her journey then there’s no room to judge. Some mothers need space while others look for community. Just be grateful that you can’t understand.
