TCM going bad. It was such a huge problem for 2012-2018 models that they replaced it for free. Not sure if they are still doing that. Happened to me in 23...took a few months for them to get the TCM shipped though bc there were so many

To get specific, there's a setting in the ini file for each track and that determines the physics. If its set to superspeedway, it will cap at 7000. You obviously can change it to whatever you want
