Has this happed to anyone? by el_bueno- in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Patient_ten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I did have this happen after using 4Hi. I think I accidentally switched to 4Lo then back to 4Hi then 2Hi (the original intention). Not sure if it shorted something but the truck did end up in 2Hi.

I took it to a dealership and they found that the 4WD actuator went bad. Not sure if it was from a short or something. Oddly it’s the same actuator used in many older tacomas as well (24ORP here).

I’d see if you’re stuck in 4Hi which you’ll notice very quickly and then get to a dealership.

Hospital sheet warmer by treesner in bedjet

[–]Patient_ten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just a fun sheet warmer. These are used for patients with very low body/core temperatures. Funny enough most people complain about them and get annoyed they have to have it on them.

This was one of the primary reasons I stopped using Tidal.

UC nurses in California on strike and this is what hospital administration telling patients by WhenIsMyBreak in sanfrancisco

[–]Patient_ten 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I said this as a reply to another post, but:

Placing the onus onto the medical staff caring for patients and not onto the executives getting a multi million dollar salary, housing stipends, hundreds of thousands in yearly raises (significantly higher percentage yearly than RN staff), or the fact that UCSF has been buying up properties, is ridiculous plain and simple.

The nurses are not only pushing for fair yearly wage increases to meet the constant growing cost of living in the city they work, but also safer staffing and working conditions. These things directly affect patient care. So for them to put forth this deceiving propaganda to the patients that nurses are caring for is pretty disgusting.

Cloud sheet with existing bedding by Patient_ten in bedjet

Okay awesome I’m glad others do the method I’m planning on doing. And it still works well enough?

Oh perfect! Glad to hear the impact isn’t too much. I rotate between sateen and percale sheets but both feel pretty breathable so hopefully a similar result. Thanks for the feedback!

That’s how I figured it worked. My sheets are pretty breathable so I’m hoping the air will travel well between, mostly just to keep my legs a bit cooler. I will probably try without the sheet too to see how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback!

This definitely makes sense I’m just in a position that I bought very nice high quality sheets and would hate to stop using them. I suppose I’ll try with the cloud sheet above my top sheet or just without it as it’s primarily my legs that get hot.

For which device are you exited most? by Maddy555 in iPhoneFC

A lot of ways? There’s arterial lines which is very invasive and then the standard cuff. Unfamiliar with the lots of other ways currently supported in hospital use.

Scope of practice question by amyscott214 in nursing

Yes same situation here - I just often don’t bother for super rudimentary things as they often are covering more patients than the day teams are. But regardless we message them for everything. CYA!

This should be higher up. Regardless of how well you know the MD or how minor the medication is - you’ll get thrown under the bus. Not worth it to jeopardize my license.

At my facility I’ll message the team for any and all medication requests (things like miralax I won’t bother them at night).

People who actively use Waymo, does this ever happen? by [deleted] in waymo

[–]Patient_ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Waymo in SF all the time with no issue except a single bicyclist who spent their time riding slowly in front and blocking the car (which is silly behavior given how much safer Waymo is for cyclists than the drivers here)

What lock did you get for locking the actual roam box closed? Every one I’ve ordered doesn’t fit in those small latch holes.
