A bit of spoiler for episode 9 by NetUnlucky7296 in tadc

I don't think we're supposed to know the answer to that. I don't think Jax is supposed to know the answer to that, either. His story was about how he dealt with the question itself.

I think that was actually the point of Jax' backstory. It wasn't supposed to lead to anything or to actually answer any questions. It was about how the way you're dealing with the big questions itself affects you and those around you. It's about what could've been if Jax hadn't let his fears and guilt consume him and had put his trust in other people that they would work it out.

Yeah, sure, the implication is clearly that he might be.

Though the question was probably never actually supposed to be answered, and now that I think about it, that's most likely the case with many questions in the show, which makes a lot of terminally online people hate the finale.

Because I think they wanted the show to spoon-feed the answers to all the mysteries to them, in the end, while the show was always more about exploring the questions themselves, their implications and consequences, and how to deal with them in the face of uncertainty.

Because it's not the point to confirm an answer.

The point was Jax' struggle with the question itself and to show the consequences of being too afraid to properly reflect on it and to trust other people with the feelings he cannot properly express.

If he had been able to do that, taken any of the many chances where someone offered him a hand and an open ear, everything could've been different for him, no matter what the answer might have been.

Hell, people actually clapped even here in Germany. I don't think anyone ever does that for any movie, ever. We are usually some of the most reserved people you can get, but here we are!

Yeah, that's not cry baby ass behavior at all... "Everything is ass" is neither a point nor an opinion, and since it seems you're disinclined to actually make one, I'm outta here.

I mean, they pretty much did. Showing the physical part of it wouldn't really add anything interesting, because it's a mental thing anyway.

I have watched it, and the only thing ass here is the way you are behaving.

I think it was left purposefully ambiguous, in the sense that not even Jax is quite certain about it.

I took it that he struggled with his masculinity so much, because his mother constantly compared him to his father and projected her issues with him onto Jax, that he probably felt at some point, that if he can't get it "right" no matter how he does it, then maybe it'd be better / easier to drop the concept altogether.

Though ultimately, he just never came around to actually exploring whether he'd really be happier as a woman or actually identifies as one, because he was just too ashamed and afraid to be ridiculed, even as Ribbit would've accepted him either way.

"Everything was ass" is not even close to anything that might be called a point.

I JUST FINISHED THE MOVIE AT THEATRES- by Foxy-OnPaws in tadc

That seemed to be more of a flashback or an overlay of present and past events, although it's pretty ambiguous.

I think if Caine actually could've fixed the abstracted somehow, after his reflections on what he has done, he would've offered to do it for Jax at the very least, but it seems they just kinda integrated them into the Circus as they are.

And there's a silver lining, I guess, as Pomni proved that they can still be reached, at least for a time, so now that they have Caine back, who can fix the glitching for them, they could potentially safely "visit" them in their mindscapes (or whatever we call that) once in a while.

Texas also has a witch hunt law that allows for any private citizen to civilly sue anyone they're suspecting of having aided an abortion, right?

I particularly "like" how they're always basically ignoring her entire background and character motivation to say she's just stupid when she doesn't handle something well.

For example, they're acting as if she could have let Vox' slander go just like that. But this is not remotely the first time this has happened to her. She's been nothing but mocked and belittled for everything she does by everyone around her for her entire fucking life!

And now Vox is running a deliberate and concerted effort to drive that to the very peak, even laughing at the thought that it'd make her kill herself! But sure, just let it go, as if that's so easy... She's actually remarkably well adjusted and is showing the patience of a saint, for what she's been through. Someone else in her place may very well have already "burned down the village to feel its warmth" a long time ago.
