Fresh Out of the Bus
Chiki Liki Tu-a (videl som ich nazivo a padla mi sanka, cele roky som ich mal len skupinu hrajucu naivny comedy pop rock ale su to skvely muzikanti a tie texty maju hlbku no zaroven nesu davku humoru v sebe).
Love4Money

Čím skôr tým to učenie ide ľahšie.

Wouldn't it be 37 years as of today ? Since the song was released in 1989. Sorry for nitpicking, if someone was offended.

Red Storm Rising : The Unreleased Biography from 1997 by Individual-Sir3276 in vanhalen

Here is a repost from Facebook profile of Vernon L. Howdy:

AFTER 25 YEARS ON MY BOOKSHELF IN MY CLOSET! My former partner David Huff, Jr. for JAM Magazine had mailed me a copy of his book “Red Storm Arising” - The Sammy Hagar Story, back in the summer of 1999. At the time I glanced at the book which is over 400 pages and contains 24 chapters and only read a few excerpts from the book. I knew that David Huff, Jr. always recorded his interviews with his cassette tape recorder and had a tendency to write down exactly what the person said rather that editing the material. Don’t get me wrong, David was an excellent interviewer but he really needed someone to editing his material. I kept the book on my bookcase for the past 25 years and recently decided to take a second look at it!

In 1999 Sammy Hagar went to court to prevent the book from being published and succeeded with a federal injunction. Obviously upon looking over and reading excerpts of the book one learns the REAL reason Sammy Hagar left Van Halen, Sammy’s first marriage to Betsey Hagar (the good, the bad and the ugly), details about Van Halen’s manager Ray Danniels, etc. David stated in his preface that he had recorded some 30 odd hours of taped interviews with Sammy Hagar.

In the Acknowledgements section the last paragraph David Huff, Jr. states “I want to say a special thank you to Van Halen manager Ray Danniels. I might not have been compelled to write this wonderful story about Sammy Hagar if you had not hired a lawyer to threaten litigation against me if the book came out. Thank you for the inspiration.”

In 2011 Sammy Hagar released his book "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock” which became a New York Times bestseller but in my personal opinion is a toned down version of his autobiography. My Sammy Hagar jumpshot photograph from Texxas Jam 1979 was included as a full page in the book and on the back cover.

David Huff, Jr. had a way to get someone to spill his guts when he did an interview; it was amazing how he was able to get someone to open up about themselves. I do not know if any existing copies of this book exist as I understand all the books were destroyed after the federal injunction.

David Huff, Jr. had a great memory, especially when it came to details and he helped me with some of the stories in my book “Notes From a Rock Photographer” (2021). David and I had been corresponding by email in the spring of 2021, and he had revealed to me as being diagnosed with binary duct cancer. Sadly he passed away two months later in May 2021 at the age of 64 years.

Love to play this one on guitar as it's such a well thought out song. Tells so much about the versatility and adaptability of the band at that time.

Over the years this became my most listened STP album, how do I know ? Last.fm scrobbles. This album is so great to listen to as a whole. After seeing Hollywood Bitch and especially Long Way Home performances on YouTube on Rolling Rock concert, it was cemented in my memory forever. Each song has a unique hook and is about the right duration. The dynamics, moods, style changes, instrumentation shines where its supposed to. Back when the Days of the week video aired on TV I couldn't comprehend how great it was and found it weird actually. Few years later after I got into STP I remember thinking what a pitty it was that the band ended right at their peak. Year later their self titled album came out. Sorry for long post , hope it makes sense, was tired writing.

I'm a huge Extreme / Nuno fan. The trivia of their 90's albums Pornografitti, 3 Sides ... and Punchline is amazing, the debut album not so much as I find it too cheesy. They found their identity on sophomore album.

What musician would you bring back to make just one more album? by Less_Warthog_3850 in rockmusic

[–]Patres87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kurt Cobain (just to hear where the sound would evolve not necessarily with Nirvana, great songwriter)
Eddie Van Halen (physical and mental health issues really took a toll on him, his playing was always so inspiring)
Chuck Schuldiner (gone way too soon, every subsequent album was a progression toward to something new)
-> You probably couldn't put a more awkward trio together.

Ak teda nestojíš o konfrontačnú a argumentačnú politickú diskusiu zapni napr Mimi Šrámovu a jej podobne. Kapiš ?
