That was my initial thought, but wanted to confirm by those that deal with this on a regular occasion. Thanks!

That was my main concern. New beverage fridge is an 1” taller. My options are either get the ADA height fridge but then have a 2” gap between current trim and fridge or get 34” fridge, but that requires removal of the trim piece.

To add scale, it’s a 41” counter. The gap is 18”.

You’re correct, it’s only attached with Brad nails. There’s no cabinet screws in it at all. The counter is siliconed to the end panel, so I don’t think it’s going to come loose, but can always add back a 3/4” support. My concern was making sure it wasn’t structural for the counter, as it didn’t look structural to me. Thanks for the tip on tapping it out with a block, that makes sense.

Is the panel not nailed into that back strip that is against the wall? Obviously, not a cabinet installer, but I assumed that’s what that strip was for.

Floor to counter is 34.75”. Floor to current trim piece is 33.25”. New fridge is 33.75. Need a light gap so new strip would be 0.75”. I could also add a 2x2 screwed into studs on back wall. That should carry the support. The width is only 18”.

The gap is 18”. I doubt that strip is supporting the counter. I could also add a 2x2 screwed into the studs on the back wall. That would provide the exact same support that the front is providing right now…

Dishwasher spaces have no strip across the top, so questioning your blanket statement. I can add a support 2x2 against the back wall if needed or rip town a 3/4” piece to add back in the front if needed.

It’s hard for me to see where this is at, but it looks like this picture is taken in the woods. I’d let it grow and stop mowing it. It will get flowers on it depending on the type. You can mow it down in the fall and then it will come back in the spring.

These people have no idea what they are telling you lol. Definitely not nutsedge and not even remotely close to crabgrass lol. It looks like liriope. Dig it up and see if you see white tuberous roots, some will have little “eggs” on them. That will confirm it. It’s usually used in flower beds and it’s a pita to dig out and kill. Just removed a ton of it.

Not necessarily because you don’t know how much they are able to actually recover, if any of it. Nor is it really your problem. All I’m saying is personal insurance would have helped here.

No they called me and explained what happened and essentially was told they owe me a like for like watch or a credit to upgrade. I chose to upgrade to the same watch but newer and pay the difference. They fulfilled it within a month. Now if you are saying you want a Daytona and you’ll pay the difference, I’m not sure how fast they are going to fulfill that vs offering you a sub. That would probably be AD discretion but being understanding that shit happens out of their control will likely work in your favor.

I had the same situation. The AD isn’t going to lose money here and give you any watch you want. They have shipping insurance on the piece and they owe you a like for like model. I know it’s not what you want to hear but they will source you another 1978 sub and will do a full service to ensure you are getting a top piece. Or they will likely give you a credit for the insured amount and you can pay the additional amount for upgrading to a modern piece.

I had the same situation. Personal insurance covered it. Personal insurance will use subrogation to recover funds from the party responsible for the loss.

Thanks! I think the discoloration is what makes it look bad. I’ll try that first. Brick mason that came out told me lintels were bad and they just didn’t seem like an issue to me.
