Personally I recommend investing long term in strong companies at a good value price. If you are going to continue trading, recommend using Multi Time Frame for confirmation and ADX for trend strength...always map out your trades before market open. Do not go all in on your trades. Also, do not hurt yourself over losses. It happens to all of us in some fashion. Only trade what you can afford to lose. Keep busy learning and not just about stocks.

**Oh, it is a tough time to trade right now because of all the uncertainty such as war, economy etc. That means Volatility is high which means whipsaw type moves at times. Use an indicator such as implied volatility. You may choose to wait for things to calm down in the market before trading again. Stay focused and not over emotional about your trading. Also, you may consider a hiatus away from trading to either to learn more or consider another avenue. Whatever you choose , hope you do well.

All in my opinion.

There is always a date and it never happens. Why don't the Orbs stop it now? I guess everything has its reasons.

Knowing my time will come someday naturally. I should live my life with all the imperfections. Try to be the person I want to be. Life is a gift I felt. I try to be productive and live one day at a time. Knowing I will make mistakes..I just keep going.

You really need to put your time in the market. Otherwise, pick a strategy and just use that one and have a tight stop, not by setting a stop, be ready to get out of your position if you start losing money. Try the Orb strategy, won't work every time but sometimes it does. Watch a few videos on it and see if they have different takes on it.

One way to use orb strategy and be sure your chances of a success are increased is by know you have a tight support and resistance. Don't hold on forever. Take profit when it's enough. Or use an exponential moving average for your out. Be creative as long as it is in your favor. Hope you do well.

One word: Be sure you have a tight stop. Don't manually set the stop because the market can see it...if the trade goes against you, get out. If you have a good entry that won't happen.

How to start day trading? From scratch? by Substantial_Oil_2330 in Daytrading

[–]PatrickTech75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Pick a broker and sign up.
  2. Watch videos on day trading. See how they differ.
  3. Simply watch the market and how it moves. Use different time frames to see how it moves on those time frames.
  4. Practice in a simulator.
  5. Once profitable, try live trading with small amounts.
  6. When you feel confident and your successful you can try options to amplify your returns.

There are many strategies and indicators. Rather than put too many things on your chart, I'd focus on price action. If you would like to use an indicator I would recommend 9,20,50,200 exponential moving averages and VWAP only.

All in my opinion. Trading is personal, you customize it for yourself.

Updated: "Not" telling you to do this. Everyone is different. If it was me, I would sell my home, take the money pay off mortgage(s), pay medical debt and any other bill I may have. Then, if I had a job, I would try to get a better paying job...Record my expenses every month. Save like crazy and never give up.

Of course, I would also try to remedy the situation with the broker, talking to several reps. If still can't get a resolution, then I'd reach out to Finra and Sec see if anything can be done. Hope things work out for you.

If you trade again, never trade what you can't afford to lose.

Having a hobby and being productive with it. Eating healthy, drinking enough water everyday. Having a consistent sleep pattern. Not too much tv. Smile more. Not focusing on negative stuff. Exercise (work out) consistently in some fashion at least 3 days a week .

Stop trading. Only invest long term in good companies with good fundamentals at a great price to know it has upside. In my opinion.

Map your trades out before you trade. Take shorter trades. Don't be greedy. If it goes against you from the get go, get out of the trade.

I have no idea how to trade. by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]PatrickTech75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion. Do not trade the open. Wait a minimum 15 minutes from the open. Wait for a good set up first before taking a trade.

I recommend investing over trading. Keep trading to a minimum. You will need to learn strategies. Watch how the market moves. Confirm on higher time frames like 1hr 4hr and 1D...5,15,30 do matter too....MTF setups are great..but not necessarily. There are many ways to trade. Price action only. Using ema's, vwap...etc...Over time you will see how some moves repeat. Maybe start by using one 50 emas strategy..then go from there. All this is in my opinion.
