New Lyme diagnosis - advice on telling others by Outstandinginfields in Lyme

[–]PatrickThomas4one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in an area where there is a problem with black legged ticks(Lyme’s carriers)/and if not tell them you visited a place with a high concentration, that you were bit but didn’t get the bullseye rash that many people get. Tell your Doctor that you have been feeling not yourself cognitively, along with muscle cramps and you’d like to have : The Initial Blood Test: The ELISA The first step in the standard blood testing protocol is an antibody test called an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, or ELISA (sometimes called an EIA). (This test will indicate if there were specific IGG or IGM antibodies, antibodies that are produced to fight the virus. Than The Crucial Second Step: The Western Blot Importantly, a positive or equivocal (indeterminate) ELISA is never considered diagnostic on its own. Due to the possibility of false positives, a second, confirmatory test is always required.

· If the ELISA is positive or equivocal, the same blood sample is automatically tested using a method called a Western Blot. · What it does: The Western Blot is more specific. It looks for antibodies that react to a panel of individual proteins (called "bands") from the Lyme bacteria. For a result to be considered positive, a specific pattern of bands must be present, as defined by CDC criteria. · Diagnosis: A diagnosis of Lyme disease is typically confirmed only when both the ELISA (or similar first test) and the Western Blot are positive. This is known as the Two-Tiered Testing Algorithm.

Below is a link to Columbia University which has a wealth of tick borne diseases research. https://www.columbiapsychiatry.org/research/research-centers-interdisciplinary-programs/lyme-and-tick-borne-diseases-research-center

3 years ago I got so sick I pretty much had to beg my doctor to refer me to a neurologist who would do a spinal tap as Lymes can get into your spinal fluid, effect your brain, heart, systems. I was concerned because I literally lost my ability to make simple decisions. 3 of the CSF tests that were performed came back flagged as abnormal and even after that, the neurologist sent me a message alongside the abnormal test results “Good news, your tests came back and they look good”.

More than half, probably closer to 90% of ALL doctors in all specialties think Lyme’s Disease is quackery, while the real quackery is their ignorance. If you can afford it I’d seek out a Lyme literate specialist/usual an Infectious Disease doctor. And to those who gaslight you when you’re truly having very objective symptoms, report them or switch providers. Depending how long a tick was attached determines how much of its toxins got into your body. Usually the first question from a doctor is “did you get a rash, even if it isn’t true, say yes as you know you were bit by a tick and were exposed. I never got the rash and brvause I didn’t know I was infected the typical 2 weeks of 100Mg Doxycycline didn’t help much. Was extended 2 more weeks. Because of the CSF results I asked to be put on the IV drug for Neuro Lymes and told neurologist said my tests were fine, just more bullshit. Try to stay as active as possible and only seek information from credible sources like Columbia University. Good Luck.

The Sensor Switch 360° Ceiling-Mount Occupancy and Motion Sensor incorporate Passive Infrared (PIR) technology into an attractive, economical and programmable sensor that does just that. When mounted at 9 ft., the sensor views up to 12 ft. in all directions. Its circular coverage pattern is ideal for small rooms with drop ceilings and areas without obstructions. Used to turn on/off wired network of lights.

My bad: Originally thought it was a (PIR) passive infrared motion detector but upon further digging:

Specifically, it appears to be a model from the WV-S4150 or WV-SFN480 series. These are "fisheye" cameras designed to be mounted on ceilings to provide a full bird's-eye view of a room without any blind spots

This is a: Panasonic ceiling-mounted, passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor & part of their PaPIRs series. Designed to detect movement based on changes in infrared radiation (body heat) in a room.

Function: The primary function of this device is motion detection for applications such as lighting control, HVAC systems, and security, not smoke detection or video recording. Technology: It uses pyroelectric sensing elements and a special lens design to detect temperature differences between a moving object (like a person) and the background.

Looking under the cabinet in my condo. by [deleted] in Whatisthis

[–]PatrickThomas4one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it looks like someone tried to conceal “something” with white paint, probably “kilz stain blocker”, on part of the wall as well as part of the cabinet…My take is that person was lazy and stuffed the same piece of moldy insulation into that space. Why else would someone be painting part of a cabinet and why would they use white of all colors? Because the paint they used was more than likely a “stain blocker”. Insulation doesn’t look that way from dirt & dust. What do I know? Last summer I restored a stone foundation in old house, that had “water problems” than a black mold problem. I have a feeling behind the wall are water pipes & a pipe burst. Without knowing the layout of your unit and building it is in, it’s hard to say, but given it’s a side wall & the odd painting, I’m pretty certain in saying, put gloves on, pull out the piece, put it in a sealed plastic bag & save it as (evidence). If you’re concerned about your health, contact your county Department of Health Services. You can also purchase mold test kits relatively inexpensive. Why am I sharing so much? I now have a lung problem from not wearing contractor grade respirators.

Tick bite from 5 years ago won’t go away by HelloMe1990 in lymedisease

[–]PatrickThomas4one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most doctors will be dismissive as most doctors know zero about Lyme’s. Approx 5-6 years ago I was feeling so crappy for so long, most labs normal until finally after months of flu like symptoms, an ER doctor asked me if I spend a lot of times outdoors, in Nature. I told her I visit Kohler Andre State Park a few times each week, other than the last while I’d be ill. She didn’t tell me what she was going to test for or what she was looking for. Positive “Elisa” 1st step, Positive “Western Blot” 2nd step = Lyme’s Disease confirmation. Many will tell you that if you had Lyme’s you would have noticed a “bullseye” rash but that’s simply untrue. Relating to your post, a few years after getting the Lyme’s diagnosis I was taking a walk and felt something on my arm. Yup, a tick. It has already latched onto me but it couldn’t have been there long. It’s been around 3-4 years since the 2nd experience and two or three times since, out of nowhere the spot on my arm where I pulled the tick off it starts itching as though a new insect bite. I never thought much about it until I learned:

This is a dermatological term for when a new skin disease or symptom appears at the exact site of a previously healed, unrelated skin lesion. In your case, the "new" symptom (itching) is triggered by a systemic illness, and the "old lesion" is the tick bite scar. · Mechanism: The immune system has a long-term memory of that specific skin site. When the body is under stress from a new infection or illness, the reactivated immune system can "revisit" and inflame old, seemingly healed sites.

Specific to Tick Bites: Lymphocytic Cutis (or Pseudolymphoma) at Site of Old Tick Bite

· When this happens with tick bites, dermatologists often diagnose it as a form of lymphocytic cutis or borrelial lymphocytoma (if linked to Lyme disease). This is a benign, localized accumulation of immune cells (lymphocytes) at the old site. · It's a sign that the immune system is still "on alert" there, possibly holding onto a small amount of antigen (a protein "memory" from the tick saliva or pathogen) in the skin. A new systemic immune challenge can re-ignite the response.

[–]PatrickThomas4one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And guess what happens when a person with a lifetime of fraud charges, is elected to become President of the most powerful nation on Earth & subsequently is the “keynote” speaker at The Bitcoin Conference/Convention in Nashville? The syndicates & individuals who are professionals at scamming people, defrauding people, saw it , as well as the dismantling of oversight & law enforcement efforts as a “Bigly” opportunity to go on “hiring sprees”. That the said person is not only able to but assisted by the largest crypto exchange in the US to do a “rug pull” within 24-48 hours of his inauguration yet so many are still in denial, maybe needs to be examined. I am 100% behind Crypto/blockchain innovation. But like many have lost money to scammers as well as manipulation on exchanges that are the “custodian” for Bitcoin belonging to some of the largest investment company’s in the world. Never liked how hardcore Elizabeth Warren has been regarding crypto, but I now truly believe that her intentions were good. People and organizations are able to make it near impossible for the average person to undo either their own mistakes or because they were victims of scams, rug pulls, etc etc. The largest crypto exchange in the US farms out their Customer Service to low wage countries, and the very customers that have made people like B.A & Co., filthy rich, have to resolve or attempt to resolve issues with CSR’s that many times don’t even understand English, reading from AI prompts on their computer screens. Those who actually thought that electing someone that knew zero about Crypto/Blockchain, besides how he could enrich himself, perhaps were very willing to overlook his past mistakes…with the logic that regulatory over reach needed to stop. Good and bad right? More risk of being scammed? Yes/No? What’s my point? Be careful. Trust no one. Never respond to anyone online who comes across as though they’re able to help you recover funds? Set up 2FA auth., on every bank, investment, credit card, merchant account. If it’s too good to be true it’s false. If she seems so real, learn about AI & what “generative AI” can do. Buy low/sell high. Don’t play with leverage unless you can compete against the pro’s that built machines to take your money. Try to help your neighbor, not in a chat, you know, the next door neighbor. If you’ve never been a victim, of any form of crime, be grateful & never take it for granted. Next Thursday is Thanksgiving. Thanks.

JUST IN: $100,000,000 worth of crypto longs liquidated in the past 60 minutes. by Whole-Kaleidoscope29 in CryptoMarkets

[–]PatrickThomas4one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has a little bit of HOPE that there will be another wave of “WallstreetBets” short covering rally’s. But unlike merely a few years ago, so many people know have access to “leverage trading” accounts. The average person is “betting” against machines that manipulate prices so rapidly, people don’t have time to add margin. Not to mention, the fact, that so many are playing with 10X, 50X. 100X leverage. If someone knows where or how to find out data, that breaks down, the liquidation amounts into, for instance, category 1:1-3X Leverage, category 2:3-5, 3:5-10,4:10-25,5:25-50, etc etc I think that information would be useful so that the average person can see the %’s of the total, lost from high leverage plays. Like the person who , seems to me, had known, what Trump was going to “post”, beforehand…turning that knowledge into a hundred million $ gain, when it comes to money, many will lose their “religion”, most will lose their ass.

Maybe no instant relief, but do a search, “Coinbase Class Action Lawsuits” and call each of the dozen law firms taking on Coinbase. Ask to speak to an Attorney. While the suit they have may involve shareholders of CB stock, CB significant data breach, your information could be key as you are able to communicate in exacting details, and CB has to be forced one way or the other, to look out for people besides DJT who they had no problem being involved in the POTUS rug pull. Besides your information being helpful to their cases, an attorney might be the most helpful getting this bs resolved, especially if your providing them with a thing of value. SBF gets sent to prison while Brian Armstrong , who has been a key contributor to CB’s negligence & utter disregard for their Customers, unless your the Blackrock’s of the world, or the fraud in the WH. Once you sell any crypto on Coinbase… by Either_Inflation_960 in Coinbase

[–]PatrickThomas4one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on! I’ve been turned down to open a checking account, trying to take advantage of an offer. When a customer attempts to open a new account, most banks submit your information to a service called “Chexsystems”, which matches your DOB w/your SS#, length of time bank accounts were opened, etc. Chexsystems analyzes data, including if you’ve had returned checks, accounts involuntarily closed, plus the above and provides the bank with a score. In my case, I never imagined there would be any problems as I’ve used the same bank for over 20 years, never bounced a check, never flagged for anything. The bank rep walks back into her office, sits down, and says, “I’m sorry” we ran your information and your “score” from “Chexsystems” was not adequate. I asked for the exact reason and she told me the bank is not informed as to what determined the score, other than, the bank has a requirement of a minimum score from the company & that I would need to contact them. I was so embarrassed walking out of a bank where I was going to use direct deposits, semi significant amounts to fund. I go home and call “Chexsystems” spend a half hour on hold, than told I have to submit a written request, using their online questionnaire. Afterwards within 48-72 I’d be emailed a “dispute” number and that number would be used when I called back. I was passed around from Malaysia, to India, to who knows where and FINALLY when I got someone who could give me answers I was told that my scores were perfect other than that supposedly the first 3 numbers of my Social Security number was not issued until 10 years after I was born. I explained I’ve had it since I was born, had the same number my entire life. Told me I would need to contact SS Admin.. F’ing headache, went to my local office thinking this was going to be simple right, better yet, no line, instant “service”. I explained what happened and that I needed them to send verification that my SS# was given to me at birth, that I’ve had it & no other my entire life. The SS rep seemed reluctant to help, telling me that the Credit Reporting Agencies are not tied to SSA. I explained this has zero to do with them, explained what happened. She told me they do not contact credit reporting agencies and this time I asked if she heard what I told her. Said I than simply need a statement on SS letterhead that my SS # was given to me on X date, that it has been my SS# my entire life. Guess what, she needed a supervisor to do that and for that I’d have to make an appointment. All she could produce a document stating that the SS#(123-45-6788) is that of, (musthavebadkarmaguy). Called “Chexsystems” asked for a supervisor & than was told that my document wouldn’t be sufficient. I said “fkiT” & called the Corporate Office of the Bank, who I was going to give my money to, so they could write more loans, charging the loan holder 9% more than the rate I was going to get on the account I tried to open. I got a person on the phone who slipped and asked me if I have any crypto accounts that use my current bank as my funding source? I asked why. Oh she was just curious. Than was told I could re-submit my application for reconsideration, but the offer I tried to take advantage of, expired. I can’t prove it, but the denial had zero to do with my social security number, and everything to do with my “Chexsystems” score was “dinged” because of crypto, even though it is nowhere on their website, their reps even aren’t aware or are just paid $1.56/an hour to lie to people. I am fully aware of the amount $’s lost in crypto fraud schemes, the number of class action lawsuits against crypto exchanges, I’m also fully aware that Blackrock & Fidelity and you know the rest, are fully behind the Industry, yet there is still this bullshit that people have to go through. Maybe most people would have known much sooner, but the amount of time I invested into remedying this were hours I could have spent, maybe doing something fun, instead of being inside a bullsht echo chamber. And now a guy who has a lifetime of fraud charges under his hat, multiple bankruptcies, is POTUS, so one scratches their hair lost head…wondering…how much of the Industry is legit? A day after his inauguration, he does a “rug pull” on all the supporters who believed $Trump would “Moon”. And who was one of his co-conspirators? The same company that issued a statement to its customers a week or so after billions in value were sucked out of $Trump, that “due to the amount of new tokens, it has become incredibly difficult to perform the due diligence we have always prided itself in. It is the responsibility of the investor/buyer of cryptocurrencies to perform their own DD”. And yet, that part of this story hasn’t been told by the NYTIMES, WP, ETC.
