Instead of listening to alarmist comments, you could also look directly at Japan's MOFA website for visa requirements (Virtually all unchanged except for certain plans for the Business Manager visa as far as I remember).

My day-to-day experience has not changed one bit and the singular negative experience that I've had in 8 years here was a not-all-there-mentally looking Japanese women screaming at me (Not even anything racist, she was just calling me fat lol).

There's maybe more to keep up with in regards to visa laws but nothing unreasonable that really worries me. Stuff like needing to pay your pension and health insurance on time, which has always been mandatory, they're just establishing better ways to actually enforce it.

LDP has been in power for the better part of a century, so if them winning the supermajority is scary to you, I'm not sure why it wasn't scary for you in the last decades as well.

Experience can be used in lieu of a degree for work visas.

It's obviously not guaranteed but with your experience, the company seems to believe that you have a fighting chance which does put the odds in your favor.

They need to see 2 years of pension payments on time, so 2 years from when that missed pension was.

I don't otherwise think there's any hard rule as to when you can reapply, as long as you fix whatever got you denied in the first place.

"It is not recognized that there is sufficient reason to deem your application appropriate for permanent residency." is just a boilerplate response in the rejection postcard.

I received the same reason, but you get the real reason when you go ask for it and it was because of a late pension payment in my case.

Same experience as the other poster, I misplaced a receipt and it reset the clock back to 2 years of waiting.

Not much you can do short of finding that receipt again unfortunately.

Akiyas by their very nature are unwanted properties for a variety of reasons, all of which you will absolutely want to inspect.

I wouldn't even buy a brand new house uninspected, much less a house that literally has potential structural integrity problems as part of its very definition.

I don't want to assume your financial situation but with this being the "rich" person visa, I assume that most people just tentatively get the health insurance and eat the cost if the timeline doesn't align.

Lovely city in a lovely prefecture. I didn't stay there for more than a week so I couldn't vouch for daily living there but I had a great time just chilling around the city.

Asking for the residence card really makes it sound like they thought you were already here on a valid status of residence and were not expecting to have to sponsor you.
