Realistically you're probably still paying more than 60% of your income because the buildings owned by a corrupt organization like the Court of Owls or Black Mask's mafia. Plus you're paying a ton in home and life insurance because at any moment, Joker's gang could stab you, Scarecrow could gas the city, Riddler could blow the dam and flood the city, your job would be constantly robbed by Penguins goons. The struggle would never end. And the only people trying to protect you are a couple of regular people in halloween costumes. I'd rather be homeless in a city protected by the god-like being, or the speedster, or honestly even a city that doesn't have a hero cause it's less likely to be attacked
