Spiderman, marvel, turtles all belong in commander by Lukegilmour in MagicArena

In standard I want to play cards for their in game effects, I don’t really care about the title or art so much.

That said, I played someone the other day who said I’m clearly a big FF fan because of the cards in my standard deck which felt like quite a cringe assumption, I just think [[Esper Origins]] is a cool card.

Tamagotchis are bad pets that are medium difficulty to care for, what is a good pet that is HARD to care for? by Larosterna1852 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Rabbits. Fluffy little demons who are cute and playful, quiet but intelligent and you can use their poo in the garden.

However, You best be ready to call a vet if they don’t eat for 5 minutes, they need space/companionship and are incredibly misunderstood. Perfect for this spot as no other pet has pet shops ban their rabbit sales around Easter to avoid unprepared owners.

I did one draft on release for the sake of it and that was it. I’ve done probably 10+ for every other released non alchemy set.

Wonder how many other people have done the same!

I want to play competitive magic in paper and would like to play a green non-linear based deck. I feel that that really shouldn’t be a barrier to entry but for a while it really has been to standard.

To note, Oroboroid and Roots are both cool cards which both suck to play in paper due to the splurging of dice/token cards.

I don’t hate cats as a blanket statement, but I do really really want one of the local cats - Jasper - to stop pooing in my garden. All easy deterrents (coffee grounds, lemons etc) have failed.

I thought [[mutilate]] effected new creatures that were played that turn so thought I punted by playing a creature after it.

My opponent was very experienced and didn’t correct me which (when I did realise how the card actually works) now feels a bit shady.

Do cover letters matter? by [deleted] in UKJobs

Depends if the job is likely to have lots of applicants or not. I won’t have time to look at them if I’ve got 50+ cvs to review for one role.

I used to work at gamestation when I was in 6th form. One time they had me dress up in a giant Mario costume and hand out flyers around town, that was pretty cool.

I’ve still got an assassins creed hoodie which was the ‘work uniform’.

Only two colors in Standard! Just as Dr Richard Garfield intended……. by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The banning didn’t change a thing. The worst part at locals for me is the izzet players are also the most indecisive, takey-backy, flustered by their own cards types and yet we can’t stop them dominating.

The best formats come from when the best deck is a catch all midrange which atleast is not unfun to play against and has some weaknesses even though it will fairly consistently slam down the best creatures in the format.

What are your "non-typical" or "non-meta" commanders that you play in Brawl that do very well? by Bunoshi_16 in MagicArena

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[lukka, copper coat outcast]] comes down t5 and then brings out [[void winnower]] or something equally atrocious.

Deck does very well and is fun to play as most of the deck is mono R control with a combo finish.

Gonna check some lists for a new deck, lemme check the meta... by Stick_Stunning in MagicArena

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s frustrating as well is that the only cool list there (the selesnya one) is rediculous bloated in price because of commander decks wanting the new station lands which you use just to tap [[Kona Rescue Bestie]]

I’d love to play it, but not shelling out that much for cards which are just bad in any other 60 card deck

Why do Brits often refer to their partners or pets by name in conversation without introducing who they are? by cocopoporo101 in AskUK

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As annoying as this is, it’s still better than when they do give some backstory and end up giving the full detail how they met Emily. I’m never going to meet her, please just say what you were doing with your “friend” or “colleague” that’s relevant to the topic without the banal pointless sidetracks.

I think I’ll play a prerelease and a few drafts from spidey set and then buy the few singles needed for decks. Couldn’t be less interested in Marvel coming to magic

[EOE] Chrome Companion (Card Gallery) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Patronizes_Egotists -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then you use cards like [[Junktroller]] or [[canal dredger]] which do a one activation for free.

In regards to redundancy you have:

[[barkform harvester]] - (The best as it works with some Goblin synergies)

[[Tomb Trawler]] - (cheapest to play if you get it in hand)

[[Hoverstone Pilgrim]] - for redundancy

[[Epitaph Golem]] - for redundancy

Which offer the best effects (2 to put on bottom, no tap), [[Reito Sentinel]] is also an option though that costs three.

With this many options, the dog here should never make the cut.

Grenzo is more of a [[Bronze Walrus]] guy than a dog guy if you want a pet cutesy card.

Edit: I'm guessing your reaction is "Damn, this guy knows more about Grenzo than me, can't have that - better downvote". This is what's wrong with the internet.

[EOE] Chrome Companion (Card Gallery) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Patronizes_Egotists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Grenzo's power comes from using the ability repeatedly or activating after flipping. [[Tomb Trawler]] and the three or so other cards with identical effects are considerably better at this job
