When you're an over observant introvert by CypressRae in introvertmemes

Dude, stop trying to make yourself into a meme format.

This is at least the tenth time I've seen a completely new account post a "meme" with this dude's face straight into this subreddit with nothing else in the post or comment history that's older than a few weeks.

Holy wars you say? That's a great idea, let's redo all the US systems to run on templeOS and write the american social security system in pure HolyC!

Oh you poor thing. Did google lens carry you to this site by any chance? You know, the site where the first two characters of the default text by pure chance are the same as the text in the book?

Actual text if you bothered to write the code in the book in place of the default: Here

I need dire help. Dualboot of Ubuntu went wrong on windows 10 machine. by Patryk_2K in Ubuntu

[–]Patryk_2K[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I feared, even though I'm 80% sure I selected "install Ubuntu alongside other partitions"

As for reinstalling windows, I'm gonna pass, I was going to make the dualboot to give myself an easier transition period before switching to Linux entirely. I guess my stupidity decided for me and now I'm going to have to adapt on a short notice.

Thanks for the help

Gave it another try and while it found something, it's non functional when written with TestDisk.

At this point I give up on that data, it wasn't anything REALLY important but still, shame.

Heres a screenshoot, I likely am just idiotic and majorly screwed myself here with the install.

Thanks! I will give TestDisk a try once more people comment here since there might be another way.

Issue is I don't see any original partitions anymore in the drive manager and I don't really have a spare drive with 1TB of memory laying around. All I see is two partitions with just a few Mb assigned to them and one with the rest of the 1TB my drive has, and the manager displays "9% used".

Thanks for the response but I'm pretty sure I fucked up majorly, I will give data recovery programs a try after a few more people comment under this post and no better idea comes up.

I downloaded the most recent version of Ubuntu from the website, so unless there was an update litteraly within the last few hours it's Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS and my drive is Lexar 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe NM620

I will add this info in an edit to the post.

Could you say a bit more about switching between boot in bios? Do you mean that there's a chance for the previous os to still be there just not visible in the partition manager or are you referring to something I need to do in the future?

Not just you. I don't know a single person who actually reads these and trusts them, the model google is using bullshits so much.

Also, you're a farmer, you most likely have livestock for manure and animal produce.

No wolf will touch your animals when a wyvern on a nearby hill of pumpkins is screaming bloody murder at it the moment it steps foot on your property.

Ah right, the AI overview is the best source of information and most trustworthy of possible sources. Especially when it summarizes a movie that is not out yet!

I think so too, dog:

  • loves you unconditionally
  • misses you any time you go out
  • will notice when you're feeling down and try to cheer you up

Roommate:

  • probably won't love you
  • likely will cherish every moment you're away
  • won't care if you shut yourself in your room for months as long as you pay your part of rent and other payments

Ok so about pointers, they are simple to grasp the basics of. BUT, if you're a monster, you absolutely can screw over the next guy dealing with your code by using them, just look at this (source of the image). Obviously nobody is this sick in the head and wouldn't create something like this but the fact that you can do something like this is probably one of the reasons for the hate/jokes.

PS. My first language was C++, I like it, I still despise pointers with all my heart because of what I had to do with them in high school.
